Daemon spade is selfish and only cares about himself. He wasn’t always this way, but being driven insane by Elena’s death lead him to project his own ideals, like how the weak should be killed instead of protecting them. Having some sick fetish into mind controlling others, etc. being a predator. He probably thinks that this is all towards what Elena would want, so therefore its justified. But its really just what he wants. Because he’s a sick objectifying creep who made his own self this way. If he really was going by what Elena wanted he wouldn’t have went about the ways he did
Trying to “understand” Daemon Spade is knowing that he was basically driven mad after Elena’s death by always being obsessive over the Vongola’s “strength”. This caused him to commit mass murders, frame other people of the Vongola for the murders. Killing the “weak” people instead of protecting them like the woman he loved wanted. Being a sex offender was definitely not apart of what Elena wanted either. How can you love a woman so deeply and then start disrespecting her while she’s dead by being a Pedophile? What Daemon did “for” Elena was actually not for her at all. Just him creating a false sense of justification in his head about what a dead woman would want.
In my headcanon I don’t think Elena will ever forgive him after this and Daemon went to hell. Tsuna was probably trying to create some kind of sympathetic reasoning, like Elena would be “grateful.” because i know he knows that’s not true either.

The Thing About Daemon Spade
So, I'll confess, I found out about Daemon long before I actually got to his introduction in the anime and I was fully prepared to dislike him. From what I'd seen, he was an evil, evil man and hated everything that Primo represented. But that's not what I saw when I watched him in the anime. Yes, he hates the ideal that Primo fought for... is what he *wants* you to think. But he doesn't truly. You can see it in the way he looks at Tsuna when Tsuna reveals himself to be similar to Primo. He loves him, he loves the Sky that he betrayed and I think that's why he did it. Daemon saw how the world was changing around them and, more importantly, how it *wasn't*. Primo, for all of his good intentions, wasn't changing everything, wasn't able to save everyone, so Daemon, whose job as the Mist is to cloud the enemy's vision of the Family, took it upon himself to protect the Vongola that he loved so much. Now, before someone says something about Daemon's comments of Primo "disappointing" him, yeah, Primo *did* because Primo couldn't see what Daemon thought was the only solution to the issue: make the Vongola feared so that no one would dare to hurt him, to hurt *Primo*. So yes, Daemon betrayed him, but it wasn't out of hatred for Primo, it was out of a love from a man that felt he was the *only one* who feared for the future where Primo's legacy would be lost. At least if the Vongola were feared, all would remember what they started as.

Erm but Daemon is almost the definition of pro-vongola. He literally shaped the way Vongola IS in present time. He was the one to catalyse it's change of path from vigilante group to an organized crime. For years he was "getting rid" of anyone who appeared to him weak and useless. He is all about giving Vongola as much power as possible not caring much if the source of said power is fear. During his fight with Mukuro it was even mentioned that their views on mafia are basically opposite. So if anyone else there is anti-vongola it's more likely to be Mukuro. If Ninth is so bad and pro-vongola why he was a boss for all those years with so anti-vongola Daemon sneaking in the background? Headcanon of Spade killing Ninth's sons plays more into giving Giotto's heir as much problems as possible. Because if bros where alive and well Tsuna wouldn't be a boss candidate. This and him clashing tenth Vongola and Simon in a fight feels more like the continuation of his personal beef with Primo's bloodline and not as an elaborate plan to fuck with Timoteo's elaborate plan.
