Early morning departure by an Amazon Air Boeing 767-300 freighter from Portland International. ⣠⣠There are 70 aircraft now in Prime Air colors- 28 737-800BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) and 48 Boeing 767-300 freighters which are a mix of BCFs (Boeing Converted Freighter) and BDSF (Bedek Division Special Freighter from Israeli Aircraft Industries) aircraft. Atlas Air and Air Transport International operate the 767s for Prime Air. ⣠⣠Amazon began operations in 2015 as a trial run out of Wilmington Air Park in Ohio under the code name Project Aerosmith. In March 2016, Amazon secured a stake in Air Transport Services Group (ATSG), the parent company of Air Transport International as part of its launch of cargo operations using wet-leased aircraft from ATSG. ⣠⣠In December 2017, the company which was known as Amazon Prime Air, did a slight rebranding to Amazon Air to differentiate from the planned Amazon Prime Air drone delivery service though the aircraft still have Prime Air titles. Amazon also plans to acquire a minority stakeholding in Atlas Air. ⣠⣠#avgeek #aviation #airlines #KPDX #PDX #Portland #Oregon #airport #planespotting #instaplane ⣠#Boeing #767 #Amazon #PrimeAir #AirTransportInternational #AtlasAir⣠⣠#instagramaviation #splendid_transport #instaaviation #aviationlovers #aviationphotography  #flight ⣠⣠#AvGeeksAero #AvGeekNation #AvGeekSchoolofKnowledge (at Portland International Airport) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQSaRMYJrQ9/?utm_medium=tumblr
