CZ P09 at 20 yards with American Eagle 115gr FMJs - that’s a 3/4″ 5-shot group out of a factory barrel. S&W can suck a dick and needless to say I’m really happy with the P09. I’m a few hundred rounds in is all, but the Burris has shown no signs of movement which was one of my major apprehensions with the whole red dot movement. Primary Machine FTW.
Bullets and blasters. Lee bullets from straight wheel weights with HiTek coating.
So we know the P09 shoots really damn good with factory ammo (previous post) - the quest is to see how close I can get casting my own bullets. I think this is about it using Lee 125gr molds and HiTek. Just under 1-1/2 inches for that left group, probably my poor trigger finger on the right group. But, counting that flier it’s exactly 2-1/2 inches which makes me happy enough at 20 yards. I’ll keep experimenting of course, but this will make easy work of even the most annoying 4″ steel targets they are obsessed with at my local 3-gun matches.
I want to call this gun my Rhino Blaster because of the front sight, but it kinda reminds me of a dinosaur too. The gun needs to be called something.
That’s a recovered bullet in the pic. HiTek is good stuff.
Those bad asses from Primary Machine coming through big time. Flawless red dot fit, flawless Cerakote finish. Front sight custom made by Dawson - all black serrated so I don’t even notice it’s there but theoretically usable in a pinch. I put that theory to the test today and was able to make pretty easy hits just aligning the white line on the rear of the Burris with the front sight. I failed at fitting the manual safety to the Cajun Gun Works internals but can’t find one for sale anywhere (any of you guys have one you want to get rid of, let me know). Hopefully I will find one soon to replace the decocker but at least that was a pretty cheap learning experience. Also, to be honest, I think I would have been perfectly happy with the short reset kit from CGW vs the pro package, but whatever.
