It had been a wondrous couple of days, and Jake had planned to save the best until the very last. Amongst an endless array of drinks in coconuts (always coconuts) and intended sleepless nights that gave way to dozing off above the cozy covers together only to be woken up by the impending salty breeze of a Hawaiian morning, he’d gotten to spend ample time with his roommate. It was no surprise, as such had certainly been his intention upon embarking on the trip. After getting to travel with Scarlett down to LA for part of the awards season, even with the ever-present glimmering glint in her eye and deceivingly sunny grin, he could guess that the length of the run had taken a toll on her. For Jake could recall his own time in awards campaigning, and among the constant networking luncheons, over-the-phone emergency meetings and time in the hair and makeup chair, he could only imagine how drained Scarlett would be -- so, he took it into his own hands to ensure the tireless actor could have a moment to just breathe. 

Even taking it at their own pace, it had admittedly been all go-go-go beyond their time in with room service and two-person film screenings at the end of the day. So, he almost felt bad as he glanced at the alarm clock besides the bed upon awakening and took notice of the number there: 5:30 A.M. He knew neither him or Scarlett were strangers to such early morning call times, but he still had to mull over whether it was worth waking her up. As Jake glanced besides him to see Scarlett’s soft, tranquil features, and paced each breath that fell past her lips that were unmistakably those of peaceful slumber, he grimaced to himself before finally deciding that yeah, it’d be worth it. Tenderly, his hand moved some of her hair out of her face, tucking the golden tresses behind her ear and rested there against the warm apple of her cheek, seeing if that was sufficient to stir her from her sleep. Perhaps not so, though, and he sighed as he brought his hand down against her shoulder to very gently shake her. 

So we know the P09 shoots really damn good with factory ammo (previous post) - the quest is to see how close I can get casting my own bullets. I think this is about it using Lee 125gr molds and HiTek. Just under 1-1/2 inches for that left group, probably my poor trigger finger on the right group. But, counting that flier it’s exactly 2-1/2 inches which makes me happy enough at 20 yards. I’ll keep experimenting of course, but this will make easy work of even the most annoying 4″ steel targets they are obsessed with at my local 3-gun matches.

I want to call this gun my Rhino Blaster because of the front sight, but it kinda reminds me of a dinosaur too. The gun needs to be called something.
