FOLKS I have just rediscovered something I thought had been taken off the internet, when in fact what happened is that it was moved to another web address. Some of you are probably familiar with the drabble-matic of Prillalar, and for those of you who aren’t: it is an online mad-libs that you can enter anything you want into and it will slot those entries into a randomized drabble. For example:
To Truculently Roundhouse Kick
Cosette and Marius were celebrating an ill-advised Valentine's Day together. Cosette had cooked a heterosexual dinner and they ate in the bathroom by candlelight.
"My darling," Marius said, stroking Cosette's anklebone, "I have something for you." He gave a box to Cosette. "It is but a poly-cotton token of my illegal love."
Cosette opened the box. Inside was a regrettable cat toy! She gazed at it theatrically. Then she gazed at Marius theatrically. "It's heavily embroidered," Cosette said. "Come here and let me roundhouse kick you."
Just then, a fully interactive crone sprang out of hiding and cackled like the Frog of Hopeful Youth hopping timidly onto the Bike Path of College Education, only to be snatched up and stuffed into the Backpack Pocket of Despair by the Pre-adolescent Male Child of Student Loan Debt.. "Your happiness will not last!" she said in an officially licensed voice and dropped a piece of paper onto the dinner table.
Marius read it. "It's a page from a diary. It says...it says that you're my sister."
They stared at each other creakily as the crone cackled some more. Cosette's chubby little belly began to tremble. Then Marius shrugged, pulled out a sewing machine, and hit the crone on her spleen. She fell over dead.
"Problem solved!" Cosette said and kissed Marius unsettlingly. "This is a steam-powered Valentine's Day!"
They incompetently burned the diary page in the candle and never told another soul.
And then they roundhouse kicked each other all night long.
I obviously needed to make sure everyone was aware that this was a thing. Go forth and drabble friendos.
