7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other? OOH. OOH. They're best buds, and best buds are affectionate with each other, yeah? When Yugi realises, he starts getting really blushy whenever Jounouchi throws an arm around him and playfully manhandles him. He feels like he needs to stop Jounouchi from being so handsy, like he's somehow taking advantage or something. But he doesn't want Jounouchi to stop roughhousing with him etc...

When Jounouchi realises, he can't stop himself from habitually instigating affection, but when he does he's so much more... careful. Because yea, Yugi's still his friend! But because he's aware of these feelings, he just can't help but see Yugi as precious in a way he didn't before. The last thing he'd want to do is actually hurt him!!

20. What do their family/friends think of their relationship? They're all very supportive;;; Honda gives them both the shovel talk (except Jou's is very violent-sounding but weirdly proud, and Yugi's is more like "Don't hurt him, but also don't hurt yourself, okay?")

Anzu calls dibs on Maid of Honour for Yugi and also gives Jou a shovel talk, because don't you think I don't remember first year, mister! I'm glad you're better now, but if you ever hurt him on purpose I swear to god I'll-

Yami/Atem (perhaps in his own body, if he's around, bc the lovebirds need some privacy) is either very awkwardly happy for them or expresses his happiness for them/blesses their relationship in a very 'ancient spirit with magical powers' kind of way.

Bakura is also very supportive!! But they later learn he had a betting pool going about when they'd get together... (which he won.)

28. What do they do when they’re away from each other? Yugi is very pouty and misses him a lot. He's not clingy, definitely not! But going to school or even hanging out with the rest of his friends just isnt the same without Jou :(( and no one else gives hugs like he does

15. Who wakes up first?

Bastion is the first to wake up and the last to go to bed. He starts his day with stretches and then a morning run.

Jesse is the next to get up. Not for any reason other than his body clock. He takes his morning slow with a cup of coffee.

Unless Chazz has somewhere to be, Jaden is up next. He’s in charge of breakfast and Bastion helps when he gets back

Then Chazz wakes up like a little grouch.

20. What do their family/friends think of their relationship?

Friends: their friends were a little confused about the relationship at first. Not because they were against it but because they were the first poly relationship they knew so they weren’t familiar with how it worked. The boys don’t mind answering questions now and then.

Family is more sticky (a lot of this is headcanon based)

Chazz hasn’t really talked to his family since he was disowned on National television. So he doesn’t know if they know but doesn’t quite care.

Bastion is more or less the same. His mother passed away before he was born and his father was cruel to him because he blamed him for her death. He hasn’t spoken to him since he entered Duel Academy.

Jaden while his relationship with his parents isn’t bad; it’s not great because they weren’t around much. They are aware of his relationship. His dad wasn’t too happy but his mum said that if Jaden is happy that’s all that matters. His uncle Leo, whom he is very close too supports him 100%

Jesse could go either way. I was always under the impression he may have been an orphan because of the “crystal beasts are my family” but maybe he has really supportive and loving parents and the crystal beasts meant he now has more family. Besides it’d be nice if the boys had some nice in-laws to spend holidays with.

Jaden probably. I bet he finds them online and immediately tried them on his boyfriends. Jesse laughs, Bastion blushes and Chazz gets all flustered.

That it will never be canon

Probably that these boys have a lot of issues they still need to get through and the road for them to truly be happy will be long and hard.

There may be times when they won’t be able to recover from an argument for days and times where they have to be far apart due to their careers.
