Pride Talk~ 🏳🌈👑🏳🌈 EPICNESSQUEEN's Fictophilia While Being Demisexual
hey guys! no real status update today, but i dunno. i guess i kinda wanna talk about what pride means to me, as someone who's kind of...stumbled along, i guess?? idk if this is something that'll even resonate with people, but i figured i'd talk today anyway because lulu's a lil tuckered out from trainin' and bouton and bluebell are asleep
so, i guess i should start by saying i'm amab!! i haven't actually really been like...a boy, though, for any really big part of my life that i can remember. my old parents had like, maybe one or two images in an old photograph or somethin', but i think it was around when i was...four, i wanna say, that my mom was throwing away an old dress and i asked if i could have it. because it was a really pretty and nice white sundress!! mom and dad were both a lil confused at first, but mom wound up fixing it up for me and let me wear it, and then i just never really stopped
i think it was around the time my parents kept lulu that they talked to me about like...being a girl, and asked if that was something i wanted! and i remember saying yes, because i thought that was cool!! my parents weren't the greatest in the world, but that's one of the things that they always supported me on, was what i wanted to present as. i guess it could'a been practical too, since mom had old clothes she could repurpose and saw it as an opportunity, but they were really kind about that much, at least. and i went by lauren a lot at that time
...i imagine that makes my eventual choice of just goin' by ren real creative in context, since i really just evolved into who i am today by cutting more and more letters out of my name, heehee. but i dunno! i like it, and i think that's what matters.
to be honest, i didn't really know what being nonbinary was until after my parents left and...honestly, right around the time i started applying for jobs, when i was 18. when i was at uva, even when i was presenting as a girl, something always felt...kinda weird and wrong? like that he/him was never going to be right, but that she/her also didn't feel right. i wasn't sure what it was until i found the words for it later in life, and i'm honestly all the happier for it!! but i still consider laurent and lauren a part of me, in a way? they're like. chapters of my life, people in my life that i'm not anymore, but who i'm glad i got the chance to be, and evolve from :) in a way, at least
so um!! i guess the big thing i super wanna say is like...no matter what happens, it's always okay to question what you are!! you don't gotta pick and stick to something now, and if you find something and it doesn't fit, that's okay!! that's what bein' a person's all about, isn't it? we're constantly exploring what we are, and no matter what we find at the end of our road, as long as we're happy, that's what matters!!
i hope you guys all have a wonderful pride month <3 whether you're still waiting to spread your own wings, or have already spread them wide, or are lookin' to wait for a new molt, i wish you all happiness and wonderful things and wonderful days upon you!
// Just a reminder that it’s LGBTQIA, and it just gets shortened to LGBT a lot for convenience. People who are Queergendered, Intersex, and Asexual/Aromantic are still totally LGBT, and to claim otherwise is erasure.
All queer identities belong at pride I’m sick and tired of the biphobia of women/femme presenting people with cis boyfriends it’s fucking annoying and tiring as shit. Because it’s never about like “we just don’t wanna see cis het men at pride” cuz that ignores allyship, which is what said partner is an act of love and support for the queer partner (also if you’re a cishet man but you’ve primarily dated/are attracted to bi women/femme poeple idk what to tell you but your not entirely straight like sure you won’t date a man/masc person but your bi girlfriend looks like an alt model for a goth clothing line you’re a little gay cuz she sure as hell ain’t dressing for the straight male gaze)
It’s never about keeping queer spaces queer it comes off very much as “I can’t flirt with you at pride because your boyfriend is there” which is so fucking weird and very very inappropriate like why would you want to flirt with anyone that much so aggressively? Pride isn’t a hook up weekend but if it is for you cool I respect and support you get your freak on more power to you but especially coming out of this pandemic let’s not forget about bodily safety like fucking cmon.
This is a community event about coming together as our identities all of which make up our rainbow and multi colored flags for a reason! Whether your bi/pan and in a straight presenting relationship which is an oxymoron to even say. If you’re one sexuality that doesn’t go away just because you’re in a relationship that others assume is heterosexual. Plenty of bi/pan people are usually non binary and so to outright see a femme looking person with a cis man and call it a heteo relationship is erasure so how about we go back to kindergarten and remember the old saying of “if you don’t have anything nice to say kindly shut the fuck up”
So whether your bi/pan or also especially aroace like since when were aroace poeple not welcomed in queer/gay spaces?! Aroace is a queer identity/sexuality by equating only sexual/sexually active identities to queer culture and pride spaces as well actually excludes and hurts everyone.
I can’t believe in this fucking decade of 2024 were still having internal fights like get over it if we rip ourselves apart than conservative and far right wing religious groups win

i was checking the pride section at the bookstore when a beautiful young bookseller lady came to me and recommended the book i was looking at to me. she was damn cute for sure!! some of the books had little handwritten notes about the story on them that were written by the staff and i guess this was her rec. she started to talk to me and i loved her passion for the lgbtq books!! she took me to their bigger pride section after that where they have lots of amazing books and flags and fairylights and so much more rainbow stuff that i wanted to buy everything i saw!! if only the things wouldn't be so expensive!! like the prizes for books are insane tbh!! the book i am reading right now was displayed in that section too and that was kinda my turn to gush about it and recommend it to her lol. we also talked about some other books for a moment and i loved it!! she was so beautiful and so nice and sweet!! this were some amazing moments for sure!! i live for moments like this!! she really made my day!! 🥹
my job interview went well. working a test day next week. my gut feeling says this could work out. 🤞🏻 my plan to not buy books this month worked so well i got home with three new ones!! 🙄 i also bought a little pride pin that comes with me everywhere i go now. i bought the peace sign hand with the rainbow flag on it but they do have a rainbow heart pin too. guess i'll get that one too!! wish they'd have the different pride flags too!! i need to get a bi pride pin!! so my day was ok i guess hehe. hope yours is going good!! xx
In honor of pride month, do you have any sexuality/gender headcannons for the different Links?
Wild is genderfluid and asexual, those are my main ones. Most of the time I imagine them as aro ace, but sometimes I like to make them and Zelda (who I also hc as ace-spec) romantically attracted to each other.
Legend is trans, he never felt right in his body as a child and he dressed up in masculine clothes and changes his interest into more masculine things and he's never felt more comfortable in his body since then. Most people do not know he's trans, since he doesn't like to make a big deal out of it and if people instantly recognize him as a boy than what's the point on telling them he wasn't born that way? He only tells those closest to him.
I like to think Warrior is basically Jeffrey Star if Jeffrey star lived in Loz. Like, he'd wear gucci and make-up and carry designer bags and people will often question his gender but he'll just tell them his gender is "alien" and people will have to go with it. Probably bi, but leans more towards women than men.
Four is just queer, they're still figuring themselves out and right now all they can say for sure is that they're not straight, but they don't think they're gay either. They just take life as it comes and sometimes it changes. They're okay with that for now.
Hyrule is most definitely pan. He doesn't care what the gender is, he gets crushes on everyone and he rolls with it. it's chaotic and he likes it like that.
Time, Twilight, Sky, are all cis and straight but they're all very supportive and will go to pride parades dressed in rainbows to show that support.
Wind hasn't thought about it, right now he has a slight crush on Tetra and nothing more. Maybe when he's older he'll find out he wants something different, but for now he's just living life.
