The scars that have accumulated on him are more than abundant, & even at a glance, they are readily apparent besides. They have become a part of him so intrinsic as to be among his most recognizable features. After all, who can ignore the wide gashes that run down the sides of his face & neck, permanently exposing his jaw & throat ? or his right hand, cleanly stripped of flesh ? Â
But these arenât the scars that are most concerning. No, that would be the cut across the bridge of his nose, deep but not enough to expose the metal through the skin. Permanent nonetheless. The new tear in his good forearm, the one that hasnât been ripped up already, caused by unfortunately characteristic recklessness. The ones that are hidden by his shirt, three bullet holes that have been sealed artificially, where itâs obvious there have been repairs done. Those are the really bad ones.
Having it brought up again, heâs feeling a little pang of guilt all over again because itâs still so fresh, not only the wound but the whole terrible, painful affair surrounding it. An ambush outside of Goodneighbor after heâd broken poor Hancockâs trust. He was lucky things had turned out so well for the both of âem, real lucky. He didnât take it for granted that Hancock forgave him, either. Now he had Princess fretting, too.
â Heard about that, did you ?  Hrm. Sorry, kid...  I shoulda told you myself. â
