LITITZ & SCHAEFFERSTOWN, PA
We started the day in Lititz at the Chocolate Cafe. Joined by my sister-in-law and her husband, we had a tasty brunch with awesome hot chocolate and lucky for us, open on Sunday. We took a walk by the historic Moravian school and town center before heading the the Schaefferstown historic farm festival. The volunteers for the event were amazing - each with a spectacular amount of skill and knowledge of the historic craft or technology which they were demonstrating. Equipment on the farm ranged from the earliest mechanized devices through diesel run machines, each taking tremendous finessing to keep running.
There were yummy, cheap snacks and unique crafts. The property was also stunning. The biggest hit with my son was wagon pulled by two huge clydesdales. He was intimidated at first, but he got up the nerve to ride it and then stayed for as many turns as we had time.
One final stop for the day at the Pretzel Hut for a mix of flavored pretzels and ice cream!
