Shooting on a lake last week, we tried the #Zeiss 21-100mm compact zoom lens on the steadicam and liked it a lot. Very nice build quality, smooth mechanics and it looked great with no focus breathing. We were impressed. We needed a slightly longer lens than other small compact zooms gave us for our boat to canoe work, and this proved to be a great choice. Once again our life was greatly simplified by our great Preston Cinema gear. Our 1st AC was in another boat with wireless focus and using the Preston Light Ranger 2 saved us over and over again. Can’t say enough about this piece of gear. I love this combination of the Alexa cameras, the fabulous Cooke 5i Lenses, and the invaluable Preston Light Ranger 2, which is a focus game changer. I love the look we get from the Alexa sensor and the Cooke 5i Lenses.
