Jorge Elbrecht is a Costa Rican born, New York based-ish artist. He’s released work on Mexican Summer and has worked with many artists, most notably Ariel Pink (who has been dropped from Mexican Summer after January 6th). No matter...Elbrecht’s music is truly a mish-mash of influences that make a wholly unique listen.
Imagine The Moody Blues, Chris Cohen, and any number of Elephant 6 bands got together and made a record. This record (especially “Leaf Cycle”) has its feet firmly in the 1960s and 2010s at the same time. I’m also reminded of the excellent releases from Michael Bain, Jon Mckiel, or Kyle Forrester.
