↩ #PrepYourPress ↪ . Last day is PIKE PRESS 🙈 . I can hear you all now; "are you KIDDING us?" Who the hell put Pike press in this challenge? Believe me, I said the same thing!😱 . 🌠Have you ever heard the quote 'If your dreams don't scare you, then you're not dreaming big enough' 🌠 . Well this pike press pretty much scares the hell out of me and if I'm honest it doesn't even make the cut for my 2016 goals. 😲 . . The goal is to perhaps press to handstand one day, but let's savour every little moment along the way and celebrate our aha moments no matter how small those breakthroughs are. 💫They're just as special as the press itself. Never ever forget that! 💫 The real magic happens WAY before you ever press so be observant and look out for it so you can truly appreciate it! . 🔹 . I have demoed several variations for you to try if pike is not in your practice right now but you'd like to see how it feels (Video sped up x 2) : . 1. Pike jump to handstand using a strap. . 2. Head supported on wheel and using fingertips.(no idea why but it feels good for me!¿?) . 3. Head supported by wheel and hands on blocks. . 4. Head supported on wheel with feet on blocks. . 5. Head supported on blocks lengthwise and feet on wheel. 🔹 Notice my shoulder and hand alignment in each variation. Notice where my hips go too. Play with whatever props you have. Try them all you never know what will work for you. ↩ #PrepYourPress ↪ . DAY 14 IS STRADDLE PRESS🆖 . Seriously, this challenge has shown me the power of both motivation and words of encouragement. This has been the most difficult challenge I've ever hosted. There's been tears of frustration but lots of laughs too. (And that's just from me😂) but there has been some amazing teary eyed breakthroughs and aha's that make this challenge so worthwhile. THANK YOU 💕 . Can't believe this is our second last post! Hope you're all still with us!! . The only way I can do straddle right now is with a strap but I did do ONE the other day without any strap!!! Woohoo! So I'm excited to see some progress hopefully soon. . I felt showing you straddle press with a strap would not be as helpful here though. My advice for anyone trying this is not to use the wall but to use something like I have here with my @limitlesswheel wheel so you have some leverage to take the hips back. Maybe use a sofa? . Key tips here are; . ♋ Back of head to the wheel with as little pressure as possible. . ✨ Play with hand placement here but you need to ensure that you have room to shift shoulders forward of wrists. . ✨ Round the upper back by spreading shoulder blades apart. . ✨ Rotate biceps forward. . ✨ Wall feet in close to your face. . ✨ Forceful push the floor away and lift hips strongly engaging legs. . ✨ When I want to lower slowly the key thing that helps me here is pushing the floor further away.
