Uber issue. Things u may not know. Uber cars, unlike taxi cars, are not radio connected. I have no idea if there's an issue with another driver or if they are coming up on issues or even who the other drivers are around me. Especially if a surge shows up on the map. We receive the call before we show up. I can't imagine driving up to get someone and finding myself in the middle of a political rally I didn't know was happening. We don't have a chat app that connects us. When I'm driving, I'm not facebooking. If I join a rally and cancel a trip (which I've done) the computer automatically sends it to the next driver, thus bringing even more drivers into an area and sending the surge higher, also, which in turn brings in even more drivers. We literally have no clue if there's an issue. Yeah, the ceo's can grey out an area and set a strike line preventing drivers from coming to an area. They didn't. Drivers don't know this. Lyft using this as a business opportunity to take advantage of people's social anger is double assholish. Where were they 3 days ago? Where was their donations? Waiting until it could make a "statement" to make dollars. A million dollars from a billion dollar company, come on, they just made that back and then some on peoples anger. Pure marketing. I also drive for a small company called fasten. Not a lot of drivers, we do ok though. What irks me more than anything from everyone acting like social warriors on this is,... ...Where were you when Uber drivers went on strike to get rights to be treated like human beings? Where were you when the driver's had to sue the company to be listed as employees? Where were you when the driver's needed you? And blocking in people who wanted to get home to show that blocking people who wanted to get home was the plan? In a international airport there are thousands of people, people with medical issues or family they've been waiting on and you throw them shade. If a protest blocks a highway, you will be inconvenienced into having to go around. There no way out of an airport. If someone blocked Boston airport, there's only one exit to the highways. Imprisoning people who just got off a plane and have no idea what's going on to show everyone how imprisoning people is wrong is kinda jacked up. Blaming everyone who had no idea what was going on, doubly so. I'll be working for the one company that seems to be Not taking advantage of the situation. But, y'all need to think on this and get a heads up as to where you should be directing your anger. Cause if you can be led by marketing with ease like that on a thing like this, wait till they really get ramped up. #Uber #PreparedMind #EvilCorp
