We found out this week that little baby is a boy! And we are over the moon! Tuesday morning the lad and I took our fancy new truck to the ultrasound clinic for 9am. We had our technician write the gender down, and headed to the old Kettlemans for a bagel on the way to my physicians office. G was convinced it was a girl, and was shocked when we opened the note. We hugged, both teared up, and began messaging everyone. The young wolf is moving like crazy, and it’s exciting to see my belly growing. We have our name chosen (we think!), and are now dodging everyone asking and suggesting names. It’s a fun secret to have together. In other news, we bought our first home! A lovely townhouse end unit about a minute away from our two bedroom basement condo. We’re thrilled! The move in date is the end of June, and are now in the process of selling ours. Dad has our first open house set for tomorrow, so it’s nothing but cleaning and organizing until then! So much excitement all at once. We head to NYC in 4 weeks (if I can get my passport changed-s.t.r.e.s.s.)! It will be a wonderful babymoon and romantic getaway.

A few days ago the lad and I met our delivery doctor and had our first appointment with him. Wuff. I had met him briefly from delivering Ems first, but up close and chatting. Mother may I. The appointment went well. We chatted about the practice and my history a bit, and finally got to hear baby’s heartbeat! Doctor put the doppler to hear mine first (I got super excited until he told me it wasn’t the baby’s....), and then on to the young wolf. It was super fast, to which the lad made a comment about it being a hyper little one. I started giggling, which was picked up the doppler, and then of course couldn’t stop after that point. 4 weeks until we see my GP again, and 5 weeks until our next ultrasound and to find out if the baby has a peepee! All very exciting!

Couldn’t go into work this morning because I was so sick. Lying on the couch I just checked my email and had this from the lad. Of course I cried.

This week was full of ups and downs! After finding out I had hyperemesis gravidarum, I took a few days off to let the new meds kick in (given to chemo patients for sickness). Still in a constant state of nausea (and the not pooing isn’t helping much), but it’s manageable now! Kels came home for the weekend and we had a wonderful Keg dinner Friday night chez Coco Daly. Today is Super Bowl Sunday! Went out for brunch with Cait, Lisa, Glink and Freya, now vegging with the lad until the game. The lad and I are talking more and more about “the young wolf” as baby has been named, and we’re super excited! Things are looking up - bythe March break we’ll be able to start telling K and everyone else. And the two of us are headed to NYC as a little babymoon/my 30th/ 1 year anniversary! So much to be thankful for!

It’s been over a week since we found out! Having our parents, siblings and close cousins know make it real and exciting. I can’t wait until the lad clues in that we’re pregnant, the stunned arse. Perhaps when my belly becomes round...or a baby flies out of my vag.
