A great alternative to the 'pregnancy and/or baby plot' so many people (me included) hate, I rather like the 'find or/and adopted a child' plot
maybe because you want your character to raise a child with their S/O or just want some drama? write cute stuff with kids? want to start the next generation? want your character to be a cool teacher to a kid?
having you characters willing wanting to have a baby in the middle of a conflict or right after it is irresponsable and dangerous, having them take in a war orphan (or any child the plot can create, they could be the offpring of a defeated enemy, of a dead friend...) is far better
and i personally find interactions with older children better and pregnancy more often than not portraited weirdly in those 'pregnancy plots' (Feyre's 'baby rich' smell what the actual fuk)

Still can't get over how much the acosf pregnancy plot feels like the twilight pregnancy plot šexcept at least in twilight there was the MENTION of abortion as an option. Feyre was barely 3 months pregnant when she found out the baby had wings and there's not even a mention of it (or why it wouldn't work š)?? Sarah what the fuck!!
āBabe, can you come here?āĀ Lydia called out. She was looking down at the two small pink lines on the test. It only confirmed what she had already been suspecting for the last couple of days. She was pregnant and they were going to have a baby. She was both terrified and excited at the same time, and just hoped her partner would have a positive reaction.
Remember how in Game of Thrones, murdering mothers and/or their children was a thing?
First, somebody tried to murder Bran by sending a catspaw with a Valyrian steel dagger. It failed because Catelyn and Summer was there to save Bran.
Then Robert wanted to send an assassin with a knife to kill D/enerys. Robertās effort failed and it made Khal Drogo willing to attack Westeros when previously he didnāt want to yet. But then Khal Drogo died.
Then Janos Slynt killed a baby girl who was Robertās bastard with a knife. Joffrey gave the order. All of Robertās bastards was murdered, except Gendry. This is what first brought my attention because Ros talked about the murder of the baby girl in the same episode when Gillyās pregnancy was foreshadowing Sansaās.
2x02 - The Night Lands
Pregnant Talisa was murdered in the Red Wedding.
The Night King changing Crasterās babies into White Walkers.
Ramsay killed Walda and her son.
Elia and her children.
And so on...
I think in season 8, this will came back as the showās darkest moments and I think the murder attempt will happen to Jon and Sansaās baby. Jonās parentage reveal made him a person with a stronger claim than D/ny to take the throne. But for him to try and take the throne, a strong catalyst is required because heās someone who is not power hungry and a murder attempt to his child may just do it. He will try to take the throne to protect his family.
I made a speculation that Jon and Sansa will consummate their love unwed before a big battle and Sansa will have a baby from it. A baby who has a strong claim to throne and could possibly bring supports from the lords of Westeros. They didnāt make Gendryās parentage a big deal before for nothing.
āYou will make Kings rise and fallā
I donāt think that Gendry himself will make Kings rise and fall. I mean, he probably already did, through Melās blood magic, but Iām talking about the future here. Jon and Sansaās son will be a bastard boy with a lot to inherit from both parents.
One of the scenes I used interpret as foreshadowing for Jon and Sansa to consummate their love before marriage was Ned and Robertās conversation in the Kingsroad. In that same conversation, Robert was talking about sending an assassin with a knife to D/ny because of the news that she married Khal Drogo.
1x02 - The Kingsroad
Then again, during a small council meeting in Kingās Landing when he found out D/ny is pregnant.
1x05 - The Wolf and The Lion
Can somebody tell me if thatās the blue winter rose symbol in the background please?
By the way in another post, I connected the word whore as Sansaās foreshadowing.
As for who will order the murder, I have in another post propose 3 possible suspect: Cersei, Night King and D/ny. I donāt need to discuss Cersei and Night King, theyāre evil, period. As for D/enerys, at first I didnāt have evidence. The only thing that lead me to it is because of Emilia Clarkeās strong reaction towards her characterās story in season 8. Right now I am leaning more and more towards D/ny. She was the target at first. For her to be ordering one at the end......the irony!
Other than Jaime-Cersei-Robert, Dany-Jon-Sansa also have a parallel with Loras-Renly-Margaery. Renly was stab in the back by a shadow baby and I think this is a symbolism for D/ny to be stab in the back by Jon/Sansaās baby.Ā
1x05 - The Wolf and The Lion
And then finally I found some possible evidence that is more directly pointing at D/ny.
The attempt murder on Bran.
1x02 - The Kingsroad
Catelyn hurt her hand holding a Valyrian steel blade trying to protect Bran. Look who got her hand hurt at exactly the same place in the same episode.
1x02 - The Kingsroad
Thereās a reason why D/nyās inability to have children was brought over and over again and I think itās not to give hints for a magical Targcest baby and itās not even a red herring. It is indeed to emphasize her inability to produce an heir. One of those scene is coupled with her reluctance to talk about succession. So how would she feel if her nephew who is actually in line before her as heir to the throne has managed to produced an heir with a lady with a strong name? Ramsay killed his stepmother and brother because he was afraid that his baby brother will take his claim. Ramsay killing his baby brother was foreshadowed through a jonsa parallel in an episode titledĀ āKill the Boyā.Ā
And if D/ny does threaten Sansa and her child with Jon, with the possibility of her making Jon a Stark, making Jonās child Starks instead of Targaryens, and her threat made Jon fight D/ny, then Sansaās word to Ramsay would be really worth repeating to her
āYour words will disappear. Your house will disappear. Your name will disappear. All memory of you will disappearā.
After all, she is the last Targaryen.
7x03 - The Queenās Justice
In the context of the scene, it could be teasing for Jonās parentage secret. But I think it could also be a foreshadowing for her to really be the last Targaryen.
1x01 - Winter is Coming
Because a Stark will make the last living male heir of House Targaryen, take the Stark name, making D/enerys the last Targaryen.
D/ny brought up about sending assassins for murdering babies in one of her speech towards Jon.
Her descend to darkness would be complete if this is what she would do. A Targaryen alone in the world is indeed a terrible thing.
I donāt know if the baby will survive or not, but thereās hope. Maybe Auntie No One is going to protect the baby.
The Catspaw Assassin in 1x02 - The Kingsroad
Bran handing Arya the Catspaw dagger in 7x04 - The Spoils of War
give me an unexpected pregnancy plot. give me anxious conversations between your muse and mine where they are both on opposite sides of how they should handle the situation. give me muse a being moderately excited at the prospect of becoming a parent and being totally caught of guard when muse b has a breakdown over it. give me muse b desperately trying to convince muse a they are nowhere near ready for a baby. give me muse a agreeing with sad eyes before vanishing...... only to return with a baby a year later. give me aLL THE ANGST UNEXPECTED PREGNANCY PLOTS
bonus points if theyāre only fwb, not in a relationship

ML Fic Appreciation Week Day Two - Fluff:Ā āNot Readyā by ProbablyVoldemort
@probably-voldemortās story has the kiddies aged up to young adults and still being superheroes... but Marinetteās pregnant after a one-night stand. Now, the dude wasnāt Adrien and wants nothing to do with the kid, but Adrienās gungho on being there for Mari all the same.Ā
While the picture is based on a scene in Chapter Seven, this story is overall adorable and love-love, and while we already know the ending (ProbablyVoldemort likes posting compiled notes on their tumblr), that doesnāt make it any less enjoyable to read because knowing the ending doesnāt make seeing how itās reached any less. Iād tell you more about it, but check out their tumblr and also read the story for yourself... unless you donāt like pregnancy plots which is all good.
Tomorrow is underrated gems and... oh boy, thisāll be hard. See ya!
A baby.Ā
Traitor father.Ā
Whore mother.Ā
Broken vows.Ā
King.
A little while agoĀ based on a parallel between Jaime-Cersei-Robert and Margaery-Renly-Loras with Sansa-Jon-D/enerys (three brother-sister-spouse triangle), I opened myself to a possibility of a j0nerys marriage before we got a jonsa endgame. However, as I was completing this jonsa parallel post from 2x10 when we saw Joffrey break his betrothal to Sansa for Margaery, I decided that maybe we wonāt see a j0nerys marriage at all. All we need to see is Jon breaking his vow to D/ny, it could be a betrothal or perhaps hisĀ āpledgeā that has happened in the Dragonpit meeting in season 7 was enough.
Before I delve into that discussion, first Iāll just present the parallels between Jon and Sansaās scene in this episode, as usual.
1. Traitor Father
Joffrey is thanking the people who helped him defeat Stannis, including the Tyrells. Loras is asking him to marry Margaery but Joffrey is still betrothed to Sansa. Cersei remind him that Sansa is a daughter of a traitor.
Meanwhile Jon was captured by the wildlings with Qhorin Halfhand. Qhorin taunted Jon, forcing Jon to fight with him and kill him so the wildlings would trust Jon. He taunted him by saying that he has a traitor father.
Jon killed him and earned the trust of the wildlings.
2. A Vow
Joffrey said that he took a holy vow in front of the Gods. But later Grand Maester Pycelle told him that the High Septon release him from that vow.
Qhorin reiterates their holy Nightās Watch vow as Jon push his sword to him.
Both Sansa and Jon were in a limbo situation at that time. Sansa is in Kingās Landing and she was supposed to marry Joffrey who she already hated at that time while Jon already has one of his foot in the wildling camp but is still considered as a crow. Sansaās betrothal with Joffrey and Qhorin Halfhand acted as a tether for Sansa to the Crown and Jon to the Nightās Watch. They both are being released from that tether in this episode.
Joffrey was asked to set aside Sansa in favour of Margaery.Ā
At that time Margaery had been married to Renly but they never consummate their marriage before Renly died. She is much like book Sansa who had been married to Tyrion but never consummate their marriage. In the show, because Sansa was given the Ramsay storyline, this parallel doesnāt hold, but probably it will hold in the books?
Joffrey breaking his betrothal in this episode could be a foreshadowing for what will happen with Jon in season 8.
The Gods do indeed hold betrothal solemn, but your father, blessed be his memory, made this pact before the Starks revealed their falseness. I have consulted with the High Septon and he assures me that their crimes against the realm free you from any promise you have made to them.
Grand Maester Pycelle in 2x10
What would qualify as the Starks revealing their falseness in season 8? That they hid a certain Targaryen prince? Jon is a false Stark bastard? Or political Jon? Whatever it is, afterwards, a certain pledge would be broken.
Which crimes against the realm would free him from his promises? Jonās crime because he lied to D/ny or D/nyās crimes to the realm?
I also made a theory that Sansa will be pregnant and gave birth to Jonās bastard. One of the past scene that supports it is by using a whore (Ros) as Sansaās foreshadowing character and that as of now, Cersei is calling Sansa a murderous whore. Now please check out a few interesting dialogues in this episode.
(Traitor father scene)
(then the scene where Jon killed Qhorin while Qhorin said his Nightās Watch vows)
You look like a baby with a rattle.
Or was it your whore mother?
Time to meet the King-beyond-the-Wall
A baby, traitor father, whore mother, broken vows, King.
I can only speculate that the story would be: Jon and Sansa canāt hold back their feelings anymore and consummate their love. Sansa kidnapped by Cersei, found out that sheās pregnant and give birth to a bastard boy. Jon will break his pledge with D/any, marries Sansa and become a King. In between those there will be a lot of disasters (donāt ask me what).
Yes I think they will have a bastard baby first before they get married. Baby first before marrying. Thatās the sequence of foreshadowing in this episode, and itās also the sequence of foreshadowing from 4x05 (Bran is going to be Uncle Bran, and Sansa to marry a brother turn cousin). My theory is based on the thinking that Jon and Sansaās bastard child actually would help strengthen Jonās claim to the throne and this becomes a threat to D/nyās claim. Initially with the Renly parallel, I thought D/ny will be pregnant at first and therefore Jon is forced to marry her. I thought that was equal with getting stabbed in the back with a shadow baby like how Renly died. But now I think D/ny is the one getting stabbed in the back with a shadow baby which is Jon and Sansaās bastard child. In the other triangle couple, Cersei never let Robert put his seed in her so all her children are Jaimeās and Renly couldnāt bring himself to have sex at all with Margaery, and D/ny is barren.
I think that all the talk about D/ny canāt have children is not a j0nerys baby foreshadowing or even a red herring (or at least I hope so...I could be wrong). I think that it is what it is, which is to highlight that she really canāt have children and will have an issue with succession. Jonās baby that comes from a union with a highborn Lady with a strong family background will challenge her claim even more. I have a theory of what will happen but thatās for another post.
Why I think Sansa is going to be pregnant and give birth during the kidnapping plot.
Part 1 of the "brave" meta: more foreshadowing for the kidnapping plot through the Lannister Lion necklace character parallel, some hints of a bastard child and Jon losing an eye for stealing her back.
Part 2 of the "brave" meta: Parallel with Gilly showing that possibly somebody will try to murder the child and some more very bitter predictions. More hints on Sansa's pregnancy and childbirth experience and interpretation of "the best weapon is between your legs" line
Valar Morghulis: jonsa parallel episode showing a baby will be important for Jonās rise as a king.
