We are almost 20 weeks pregnant, almost ½ way complete or finished. It’s still bizarre to both C and me - bizarre that a tiny human is incubated inside of my body where it’s staying warm, being fed, growing without any outside distractions, developing and able to do basic body functions, making faces, kicking and fist pumping, reacting to sounds and light, pumping loads of its own blood every day, and listening to the sounds of our every day life. How incredibly bizarre and fascinating is that all!?!?! His (GOD’s) creation is mind blowing. I’ve always been intrigued by the work of His hands. By the fields. The trees. The flowers. Every little animal. Every sound coming from the night and by every star in the sky. By landscapes. By genetics and personalities. By sunrises and sunsets. By colors (so many colors). But THIS is a whole new level of interest, and it’s something I can’t even see happening! But I can feel it, and see the outward affects of the inward work. He made life from nothing. Life! A tiny little life. I know so little about this life, but I love it immensely and I’d do anything - ANYTHING - to protect him/her. I can’t wait to meet you. I can’t wait to hear your little voice and to hear the midwife say, “meet your beautiful, little (boy/girl)”. I can’t wait to hold you and kiss you and call you by name, your name! I can’t wait. But I can.
