Sky News tries to spin the latest Newspoll to make #PeterDutton look good**  

“The latest #Newspoll, conducted for *The Australian*, found Labor has lost ground blah blah as well as losing blah blah...”

But Sky News forgets that **The Noisy Trunk** is here to **DECIPHER ITS DECEPTION**. So let’s look at the bits they HAD to write 

 but wanted to subdue:

1. **Labor is still leading among young voters**:  

   *Labor holds a commanding lead among young Australians, smashing the Coalition with a 63-37% two-party preferred margin.* That’s not a gap, folks – that’s a generational landslide. But Sky doesn’t want to dwell on how thoroughly Labor is resonating with the future voters of this country.  

2. **Labor gained ground in Western Australia**:  

   Despite all the doom and gloom, Labor managed a two-point swing in WA, leading the Coalition 54-46. For a government in its first term, strengthening its position in WA – a state often touted as a Coalition stronghold – is nothing short of remarkable.  

3. **Preferred PM in two states**:  

   *Anthony Albanese remains the preferred Prime Minister in Western Australia and South Australia,* with a 14% advantage over Dutton. That’s not just good news; that’s Albo towering over Dutton in two key states while Sky tries to play up any minor gains the Coalition scraped together.  

4. **Labor’s Victorian advantage**:  

   In Victoria – a state *Sky News* ominously dubs a battleground – *Albo still leads Dutton by 10 points as preferred PM*. Sure, that lead has halved, but let’s not pretend a double-digit margin is suddenly a crisis. If that’s what Sky 

 calls a battleground, Dutton must be stranded without a map.

### **The BIG Picture Sky Hates to Acknowledge**  

- **Nationwide advantage among young voters.**  

- **Improved performance in WA.**  

- **Preferred Prime Minister in more states.**  

This is not the narrative Sky wants you to see. They’d rather play up a 4-point gap in NSW or some middling approval shifts as if Peter Dutton suddenly has a personality.  

Let’s be honest – *“neck and neck”* is a win for the guy who’s already ahead, not the one trailing. Labor still leads where it counts, even with all the spin Sky can muster.
