Starting The Journey
The Very Beginning
If you tell the 5 year old me who was sitting in the library reading books about Walt Disney World that she will be spending 10 weeks there in the future, I would probably think that you are out of your mind. If you tell the 18 year old me the same thing, I would probably sayĀ āThey wonāt pick me one!ā. And yet, I canāt believe that Iām actually going to do it for real next month O.O!
According to Disney, āThe Program provides you with the opportunity to spend your school break working at Walt Disney WorldĀ® Resort...be immersed in different cultures from around the world, connect with industry experts and build lifelong relationships " and I have done a lot of researching about this program way before I even signed up for it. Previous participants all said that this is an experience of a lifetime and I canāt wait for my own adventure to start! And I will try to document as much as possible so I wonāt forget anything (TRY is a very big keyword!)
My Assigned Roles
As for what I will be doing at Disney, I wanted to be a character performer (I mean who doesnāt) and the interviewer wanted me to be one as well (Since she learnt that Iām an acting student) but...I...Am...Too...Tall...Too...Tall (ć -ć ) I kind of knew that would happen but one can still hope haha! So she asked if I want to be in costuming and I kind of didnāt want that because Iām very much in theatre in school and I wanted something different! In addition, the costuming for Disney is not for their stage shows but for cast members so I wonāt be in the park and I didnāt want that because my very main purpose is to talk to people and learn their stories. So she suggested how about custodial (which is like cleaning the park and stuff) because thatās the role with the highest amount of guest interaction and of course I was reluctant and I caught myself because a job is a job and no job is lesser than other. One should try as many things as possible right (since I has retail and greeter experience) so I said yes. After google-ing, people said that custodial is actually a great role as Iām able to walk and explore the park and it has a lot of freedom so thatās great! Always try something new!
My Wants
Iām looking forward to doing all sorts of things in the park! (Will be doing a bucket list soon!)
⢠Going there every day and things like that haha!Ā
ā¢Going to Universal (For their really great roller coaster)
⢠Meeting new friends (Because Iām kind of going there alone)
⢠Hoping my roommates wonāt hate me >-<!Ā
⢠Trying new food!Ā
⢠Living a different lifestyle!Ā
⢠Travelling alone!Ā
⢠Being independent and stuff!Ā
⢠Wearing formal clothes (I donāt look forward to this part -.-).Ā
⢠Meeting Jolene (Who is so awesome and coming to visit me!)
⢠Most importantly, A DISNEY NAME TAG WITH MY NAME ON IT
Letās Go!
I will be starting the program on 5th June 2017 to 10th August 2017! So excite and so unbelievable and I canāt wait to start! But Iām also really scared at the same time (But being scared is good) So I hope this would really turn out to be an awesome adventure before my awesome adventure as an actor starts!
Whiplash
After so many yearsĀ of imagining moving and living abroad, itās finally come to fruition. After so many months of thinking I wouldnāt find a jobĀ that Iād be comfortable taking, everything has fallen into place. I drug my feet for so many months on getting my paperwork for my E-2 visa done because I didnāt realizeĀ how important that was to have done while job hunting. I had sent off for my FBIā¦

D-17 - First update
Itās less than a month until I will be on my way to South Korea so I was thinking it might be time to finally give a litte update.Ā
The whole process started back in May so obviously I have gotten things done as it has been 4 months already. Iāve got my dorm room reserved, registered for courses I want to take, bought insurance and plane ticket and yesterday I finally got my student visa in the mail, so basically I have done everything that has to be done before arrival.Ā
In other news I also had my goodbye party yesterday. I had a great time with everybody and it was also nice to finally catch up with people I hadnāt seen in a long time. With good friends, food, alcohol and karaoke the result was perfect! The party was awesome, but it also made me realize that Iām leaving soon and wonāt see some of them for a year... so yeah... thereās that. Other than that it was great!Ā
