SUMMER MORNING WALKS 

He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. —Psalm91:4 

I felt it as I woke up. 

The vague unsettledness. 

The feeling you can’t quite put your finger on, but it’s there. 

And as I focus on it — I’m aware of the anxious thoughts. 

Crazy how your your nervous system has a memory. The slightest twinge and the mind reacts to the bodies symptoms of fear. Life’s scars often remain etched in the mind. 

This I know. 

And like so many afflictions, the enemy wants to use our scars to keep us running to fear. To doubt God’s provision for our lives. 

But I have seen God’s faithfulness. 

He lovingly waits for me to run to Him — again and again in trust. Because the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:41) 

So I put on my spiritual weapons of faith. 

Walking shoes. iPod. Praise music. 

Morning walks strengthen my soul as I excercise body, mind and spirit. 

Soon the sun breaks through. 

And I smile as I come across a feather reminder on my path. He covers me with His feathers. 

God’s faithful promises are our armor and protection against fear. His Presence with us — each step of the way. 

Faith is a spiritual muscle that we need to exercise.
