In many communities and cultures, teenage pregnancy is not socially acceptable, so in addition to providing the expectant teenage girl with medical and prenatal care, social difficulties needed to be taken into account.
In order to prevent teenage pregnancy, teenagers need to have a comprehensive understanding of abstinence, contraceptive techniques, and consequences.
We support the important decisions girls make about their futures and bodies by increasing girls' awareness of their sexual and reproductive health and rights, shielding them from harm, and putting them in touch with education and health resources.
