Book signing events aren’t just for the author and publisher; in fact they are more for the fantastic fans. Of course they benefit everyone involved but at the end of the day what makes the event successful is if the fans, the avid readers, are happy. Authors and publishers work together to ensure a productive book signing where they can speak directly to possible buyers and network with the public. Authors meet and interact with the public to show they are a part of the community. Remember authors are everyday people; they just have stories inside of them that they need to share with the world through their writing. Book signings provide a way to promote a book, leading to more book sales, while connecting with the fans on a personal level. An imperative goal of book signing events are to make sure that people know about the book and are encouraged to buy it. Most of the time you will find a book event at a bookstore but depending on the topic of the book it could be held at a retail location having to do with the subject of that book. For example, a children’s book could be held at a library or at a school even.  A successful book signing event will leave everyone with a smile on.
