PPC Campaign: Tons of clicks, but not a lot of conversions?
This entry is going to be my quick PPC tip of the day specifically in regards to the issue laid out in the title.
I’ve worked with many small business clients who are able to set up their campaigns, but face the obstacle of obtaining qualified leads or get any at all. Now, I know that there are a ton of factors associated with this…any PPC Marketer knows the answer to fixing such an obstacle, but I want to keep it simple, sweet and short here on my blog. Here we go.
A few things to look at are…
Keyword matching. How have you positioned the keywords that you're bidding on? Are they all relevant? Check out some additional explanations of keyword matching here.
Landing page. Does the messaging on your landing page convey the same as your ad text? For example, your ad text may be promoting 50% off t-shirts and caps, but your landing page may just be a display of your entire inventory. This will negatively impact your campaign, increase your cost, lower your quality score, and increase your landing page bounce rate.
Call to action. Do you have a clear call to action (CTA)? If so, where is it positioned on your landing page? Do you have more than one? If so, how many? Keep in mind that a clear CTA is important and helps with increasing conversions. So in this case, since the clicks are there, work hard on your CTA and landing page presence!
Of course, there are many more things that you can look at when it comes this certain topic; however, I love taking the approach of laying out a few factors that are preventing your campaign from performing positively and then growing out your action plan from there. It helps create an easier and trackable checklist.
