After postponing a year and finally deciding to go, we traveled to France to hike and celebrate 30 (now 31) years married and 42 as friends. I include a photo here from Omaha Beach, where we heard stories of heroic Americans and saw evidence of incredible sacrifice and courage on behalf of allies. Long hikes left plenty of time to consider the latest news from home, and the unwillingness of many to protect others’ health, access to voting, and reproductive rights. …. Our trip ended in Nantes, a city filled with awesome public art and parks, all clearly inspired by hometown hero Jules Verne. That magic—including a ride on a mechanical elephant—plus a visit to @musee_imprimerie_nantes (thank you, Pascale!) offered necessary refueling and a reminder of the power of the press. I’m grateful, and ready to get back to work. #letterpress #woodtype #museedelimprimerienantes #powerofthepress (at France) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTcLlCJMLfS/?utm_medium=tumblr
