“Well, well, look at who I found...I should’ve figured you’d be here. Playing the hero, like always...”

Adachi called out to the grey-haired boy upon catching sight of him, deviating away from his path of wandering destruction so as to focus on him-the last person he wanted to see in this godforsaken place. His words were full of pure venom and disdain, in contrast to other Adachi of this Hive City, who’s normal tone with the boy was always a mix of laid-back sarcasm and contained mockery.

Just looking at him made Adachi’s stomach tie itself in a knot, his rage coming to a boil as he gazed upon the worthless, pathetic, little brat who, through sheer luck and just being born with the talent to succeed at everything he tried, had gotten everything he could’ve ever wanted. A loving family, a tight-knit group of goodie-goodie friends, powers granted to him that were just like Adachi’s own and more. And yet, he wasn’t satisfied with that. He wanted to convert Adachi to his way of thinking, wanted him to surrender himself and face proper judgement to ‘atone for his crimes.’ Why? Because Yu ‘believed in him.’ Believed that the man he’d spent time with for the last few months represented an actual part of him, and not just a mask used to escape suspicion from others looking into a case. He thought that he could turn Adachi around with words and appeal to his kinder nature.

What a load of bullshit. He almost wanted to throw up at the thought. At last, he could no longer contain his anger, and he spat out his next words at yu with the full force of his hatred.

“...You seriously PISS ME OFF!”

Battle Theme: Burn My Eternal Dread

Battle intro: "So this is meant to be the protector of Inaba. Come then, show me he who would stop a goddess."

Victory: "How weak must that goddess have been compared to Nyx; that you would fall here."

Defeat: "It seems that no matter whom, the power of the Wildcard resonates."

Assist: "Distract them with Mara; the competent one here is trying to work."

Taunt: "People see what they want to see, and believe what they want to believe... oh, did I say something wrong?"

Reacting to Taunt: "Your bonds are simply little delusions before death collects us. If only you'd admit that."

Tie: "As a member of Strega, I refuse to end this now. We shall continue."

Unidentified human male, unidentified human female, unidentified anthropomorphic life form-- useless titles, all fired off as she lazily scanned the faces of those around her, searching for some sort of clue. Unidentified human female, Narukami Yu, Unident--- wait, what?

Among the faces she had taken in, somewhat zoning out and letting herself collect information about her predicament, a very familiar name came up. Regaining her focus, sure enough, there was a familiar visage hidden in the crowds! He seemed to be zoning out, half-paying attention to his surroundings.

"Yu-kun!" she shouted jubilantly, suddenly disinterested in the faces of so many passer-bys. 

Adachi limped through the ruins of the annihilated street corner, careful to step over all the corpses and rubble that morbidly decorated it. After getting through the previous blackout in Hive City, not to mention staying in Magatsu-Inaba inside the TV world for so long, waiting for the kids to show up and challenge him to a fight, Adachi had become desensitized to the sight of ruined infrastructure and the smell of dead bodies.

Not to say that he was eager to join them. Far from it. That was why he was here, fighting alongside these idiots, after all.

Over the course of the battle, Adachi had been keeping track of the other groups who'd been fighting Nyx from the other areas. They mostly consisted of Persona users that Adachi had gotten to know over the pass two incidents back home in their world. For all the shit he gave them whenever they happened to come into contact with him, Adachi had to admit that he felt a little better knowing they were in on this with him. And whoever those demon tamers were, they seemed to have at least some sort of idea what they were doing.

Even so, the battle was not progressing smoothly for them. The kids from Inaba and his team with Ken seemed to be doing decent enough, but they weren't doing as much damage as Adachi would've liked. Mitsuru Kirijo's team was currently on the defense, and if they didn't get momentum back soon, they might become the next fatalities of this fight. And then there was Sho Minazuki-Adachi had briefly spotted him watching Nyx from a nearby rooftop, but he lost sight of him as he had to return his attention to the fight that was happening in front of him. Adachi had no idea what the brat was planning, but he took the fact that Sho hadn't yet come after him to take off his head as a good sign.

What they needed right now was something big-something that would be powerful enough to catch Nyx off-guard and do a ton of damage. Something that could turn the tide of the battle in one strike. Of course, with the limitations placed on them by the scientists, Adachi doubted that, individually, any of them had such a powerful attack in reserve.

Which is why he was currently seeking out the boy who'd defeated him about a year ago. The boy whom he'd told that he never wanted to see him again. At the time, those words been true. As far as Adachi was concerned, they still were. Right now, however, there was no avoiding him. Not if they wanted to survive.

He was going to replicate the ending of the P-1 Climax, and strike at Nyx with the same power they'd used to defeat Kagutsuchi. And for that plan to work, he needed Narukami's help.

He spotted the silver haired boy over by the rest of the kids, as he struggled to climb over a pile of rubble that had come from from the demolished electronics store nearby. Upon seeing him, Adachi smiled-whether it was one of genuine relief, or if it was is usual, mocking grin, no one would be able to tell. That was how he liked it. 

Adachi climbed down from the man-made hill, and walked a little closer towards Yu, just close enough to be within earshot.
