Which Witch is Which? || Peter and Kiran
Peter racked his head for answers. Answers about what had happened at Illusions Of Grandeur, because he pretty much had Kiran figured out. The man was a witch, or warlock. Either way he practiced magic. Did his mom know? Who was that girl, and what the hell did she do to him. He was able to calm himself before getting home, and decided against telling his parents. They might try and get him to leave, or just lie to him about things. When he saw Kiran, he moved so there was room for both of them on the bench. He had his hand out holding a soda. "Got you this."
Kiran watched Peter carefully, he had clearly arrived at the bench earlier, and now Kiran was making his way towards someone he had once considered to be his friend. He still thought of him as his friend, but he worried that Peter had changed his mind about Kiran and that it wouldn't be long before he was rejecting him. In the end that was Peter's decision, and nothing that Peter did would change his out look on the world, for now he would have to trust that he had the best motivation at heart. Taking the soda from him he sat down next to him and smiled. "Thanks, are you alright?" he asked careful to be very peaceful in his tone.
Peter shrugged, a chuckle sounding. "As best as I can. Honestly I'm not even that shocked about you. I'm more worried about where these bugs are coming from, if they'l get to my home, why I can't see them. I mean, are they even bugs? Who is Erol, and that girl. And, what they did to her, what she did to me. I have absolutely no idea what's going on except that you're a witch. You are a witch, right?" He strained to keep his voice low, and right now it was more of a loud whisper.
Kiran looked at Peter, and from the sound of the chuckle he was immediately relieved that Peter was not angry. "Well if it will make you feel better I can cast some protective spells and charms over your house, that should protect you from the bugs for a while and you won't have to worry about the bugs getting to your parents." he said with a shrug. "Erol, I don't know who he is, that girl as well, I could speculate, but I can't make a firm decision without more information." he said with a sigh, brushing his hair out of his eyes he took a sip of his soda. "The technical term is Warlock, but Witch works just as well."
Peter laughed. "Technical terms. I just learned my friend who my mother taught piano to can do spells and charms and hexes. That . . . that sounds rude, I'm sorry. I would appreciate immensely if you could dot hat for us. I um . . . I could offer my services as a guard dog, now that you know what I am." Peter tried for a joke, and looked over Kiran. "My mother must have meant you were special in another way, I don't think she knows you're a witch, otherwise she might not have wanted us hanging out." He snapped the cap off his coke and took a sip.
Kiran smiled at his friend and shrugged. "I'll try not to be so technical in the future." he smiled again and shrugged gently. "I mean this town is really weird and if I can do spells and charms, though I am not so good at hexes, but if I can do all those things." he said with a laugh. "Then can you imagine what other people in this town can do?" he asked with a laugh. "Don't worry about that, but it would be my pleasure to help you out and your family, no charge at all." he shrugged and took another sip. "But be sure to line the entrance to your doors and windows with salt, that will keep them out if any of my magic fails, and as unlikely as that seems, best be safe rather than sorry right?" he said with a gentle smile.
Peter grinned. "I guess I always imagined warlock was a term for a more . . . evil person. But I don't think you're evil." Peter looked at him again and sighed heavily, clearly tired from everything that had happened. "I'd rather not. What you did was powerful, and if there's people stronger than you, I just hope I'm not on their bad side." Peter's eyes scanned the park, wondering if there were any invisible enemies lurking. He resisted the urge to pull his feet up. "Salt, got it. I'm sure we have salt." He scoffed and said, "oh you're right, I believe that. So, you're not surprised at all about my being a lycan?"
Thinking about what Peter said made Kiran shudder slightly. "That is all a misnomer. Witches and Warlocks get a bad reputation because of our names, but we don't get called this because of our moral alignment, more because of our gender." he shrugged gently. Sitting back on the bench. "Don't worry, I've not actually encountered anyone that I would openly point out as a threat, well of course these invisible things. Whatever they are, they are an obvious threat." he said sighing and shrugging. "But you know what don't worry about it, you'll be fine, we all will." he said with a shrug. "Salt and Iron apparently, but we'll just have to keep an eye out." he shrugged once more. "Not particularly, I mean a bit, but not as much as if you were like a Vampire."
Peter nodded. From what little he knew about the magic folk, he knew that the names they were killed were interchangeable. "So you just prefer warlock, no big deal." The werewolf leaned back and took another sip of his drink. "So they're bugs that we can't see, with the chewing power of maybe a . . . piranha? Basically we've got . . . man-eating, termites?" It was nice of Kiran to say, but Peter would worry, for a while. Once the salt and spell barrier's came up, he'd feel safer. But it's not like he could be covered all the time. "I guess we could carry salt on our person," he thought out loud. "Iron too? That'll be a bit harder to acquire in bulk." He laughed and looked at Kiran. "So I'd be more of a shock if I sucked blood, not grew fangs and claws? Have you met many other species?"
Kiran shrugged, watching his friend carefully, wondering if he was really taking this all so well. "I doubt you'll be calling me a Warlock much, this is something I prefer to keep on the down low of course." he said with a smile. He thought for a moment and sighed. "Something like that. I am not completely sure how it all works, but they're deadly, lethal and they'll eat you up if they can." he said with a frown. The infestation terrified him, though how they were supposed to handle it he wasn't sure. "It is best not to go outside, with that said we should probably get moving." he said. "Don't want to sit outside in one place for too long, it could be dangerous." he said with a sigh. "Well I thought Vampires couldn't go out into sunlight, and I've seen you in the day plenty of times."
Peter scoffed again and gave Kiran the really? look. "I can imagine that, Kiran. There's only a handful that know what I am, and that includes my parents. Your secret is safe with me." Of course he wouldn't tell anyone, but he needed to figure out who Amelia was. Before she even took his energy he felt he knew her. Peter remembered that face from a dream, and was sure he hadn't seen her in town. "That Amelia girl, if you see her, keep an eye on her, would you? She . . . I think she might be dangerous." Peter stood up and checked the time on his phone. "Yeah, we should get going. I have to go to the police station, talk about a few things with people." He laughed and nodded. "That's true. Well, it was good taking to you. I'm, sorry we had to find out about each other this way."
Kiran raised an eyebrow at Peter, he hadn't expected him to say something like that but he couldn't help but feel intrigued. "There are a number of people who would say exactly the same thing about you and me Peter." he pointed out with a slight sigh. "But I'll do my best to make sure that if I see her I'll keep an eye out for her, although I am not sure that is something I am entirely comfortable with." He shrugged once more. "If you want me to, I'll come with you, wait for you at the station and then we'll go back to your house and get it all set up so it is safe?" he said with a shrug and a smile. "I'm not, it was a good way to build trust with you." he said smiling gently. "If we had met another way, well it wouldn't have been the same."
Peter pursed his lips and nodded. "I know, but what she did . . . I feel like I've seen her before. I'm not sure, just-just maybe, find out what creature she is?" Peter had heard of Hunters and Slayers, Hunters obviously being his biggest fear. But he had stayed alive for this long. "If you don't want to, you don't have. I really can't ask that of you. It just seemed . . . really weird, what she did, very frightening." Peter looked at Kiran. Another way? Possibly Peter meeting Kiran as a wolf, or Peter being a subject of a spell gone wrong from Kiran's fingers. "Yeah, we could. Did you drive here? Because I can take you with me. And you're going to have to show me some things you can do." Peter rubbed the back of his neck. "I've kind of always been fascinated by witches . . . and a bit put off by you guys."
Kiran shook his head gently, his hair cascading in flowing waterfalls of brunette. "Well I will keep an eye out for her, and whilst I have my suspicions about what she might be, I don't want to jump to assumptions without more information." he said with a sigh and a smile. "I will keep my eye out for her, to make sure that nothing happens to her and to make sure that she doesn't do anything to anyone, but I will be discrete about it." he said with a shake of his head, "And I am not spying on her." he said conclusively. "I got a lift in with my sister, she has the car and she can always pick me up later." he sighed and shook his head. "I'll try and fill you in if I can." he said with a sigh, "but there isn't always an answer."
Peter pushed his hair back with his fingers, a bit envious of all that Kiran had on that head. But he could never pull that look off, what a silly thought. "And you shouldn't. There's no telling what she is. Who knows what other supernatural creatures are here in Ashkent." Peter nodded to everything he said. "I wouldn't want you to get yourself in any trouble, especially with another supernatural creature." Peter finished his soda and threw it in a can they passed. "I understand. Let's head out. I'll try and be quick."
Kiran nodded at his friend and smiled. "I'm sure she is completely harmless, you'll find that most of the things in Ashkent Creek that are a little strange are not all completely evil, and most of the time they're as tame as a house pussy cat." he said with a smile. "Don't worry, you're not going to get me in any trouble. Lets just get to the station and then back to your house, this really shouldn't take all that much time." he said with a shrug. Standing up he placed his soda in the bin, not as sure with his throw as Peter seemed. "So why are you going to the station?" he asked curiously.
Peter snickered and shook his head, looking down in amusement. "Like us? I'd say we could do some real damage, if we wanted to. It's not that I think she's evil. I think she knows something about me." They walked towards the entrance to the park, where most had parked their cars. Peter took out his keys and shook them around in his hand. "I hope it doesn't. I'm going to ask talk about maybe while the animals are acting up. I think it's everything that's going on in town. Though with the bug incident, I'm gonna have a few more questions. Maybe one of the officers saw something from last night, maybe a few could see the bugs."
Kiran looked at Peter quizically and raised an eyebrow at him. "You know what Peter." he said with a smile. "If you're so sure that you know her, now bear with me, but maybe you should just ask her if she knows something about you? Surely that would clear all of this up for you!" he said as he kept an eye out for anything strange that was going on, not that he could have picked anything up, but it didn't stop him from being extra vigilant. "I don't think that they will have anything to say that will be helpful." he shrugged. "but it is worth a shot right?"
Peter frowned for a moment, then nodded. Kiran was right. He could try and find out what was going on with her from the source. It made him nervous though, the idea of confronting her. But it was better than putting his friend on the spot. "You're right. I will. It'll be okay!" He matched Kiran's enthusiasm. "Right! Even if the cops are anything supernatural, they could still be something. It's worth a shot asking."
Kiran nodded as they arrived at Peter's car, as he unlocked it he stepped inside and took a seat, buckling his belt. "Lets get going then." he said with a smile as he sat back and waited for them to get going. "I want to get back to your house as soon as possible and get those spells up." he said with a smile, family always came first.
Peter strapped himself in and started up the car. Fortunately, he needed directions to the station. "One second." The werewolf pulled out his phone and went to the map app. "Okay, um . . . there we go." He set his phone up and started to drive. "I do too. I promise I'll make it quick. I . . . I do have some questions for you. If that's okay?"
Kiran nodded at Peter. "I know that you have questions, and you can ask away." he said with a sigh and a nod. "Go for it, whatever you have just let fire." he wanted Peter to have complete trust in him. "And if you don't mind I have a couple of things I was wondering about you? I hope you will be able to help me out with it." he said with a nod.
Peter smiled. "Of course, Kiran. I'd be surprised if you didn't want to ask me anything. It's not everyday this happens. Funny enough, it's probably everyday someone says that expression." He tapped his fingers against the wheel. "What do you do, with magic? How long have you been practicing it. Does Asya know?" He looked over for a moment at him, coming to a stop light.
Kiran smiled at Peter and shook his head gently. "I am a pretty unsurprising person." he said with a smile. "It is a bit of a weird expression." he said with a smile as he sat back in the chair and adjusted gently. "I specialize particularly in healing magic and protection spells, like the type that I used in the theater the other day." he said with a nod. "Asya knows, so does my mother, they're all witches themselves." he said with a smile. "So what is it like being a werewolf?" he asked gently.
Peter pushed a hand through his hair again, looking over at Kiran. "Healing and protection, doesn't sound too evil." Peter gave him a small smile. "Oh really? So you're a whole family of witches." A grin came to his face. "My parents are werewolves, our families have been werewolves for a long time. It's . . . fun to say the least. I love it. There were moments when I was young that it scared me because I had a hard time controlling it, but now I have it nearly mastered. Whatever's happening in this town is reversing that, but . . . I love being a werewolf. It's great."
Laughing Kiran shook his head and smiled at him and laughed gently. "Well you know Peter I like to think that I am not all that evil, I am just good at healing people and protecting them from harm, which is what I am going to do for you and your family." he said with a simple smile. "Well my mother is not my biological mother, so it was a strange coincidence that we all are, but somehow it has worked out that way, she was the one who taught me most of the basics." he said with a smile. He looked at his friend and raised an apprehensive eyebrow, though he remained silent. "Your mother is a werewolf?" he asked surprised. "You've got to be kidding, there is no way that she could be a wild beast like that." he said with a smirk. "I must have had your family completely pegged wrong."
Peter blushed, then stepped on the gas pedal. "My mom does have her flaws. She . . . has a type of prejudice against other species. She always wanted me to stray from other species, so I . . . didn't think you were evil, but I was surprised you were a witch. I guess I had a vision of a guy or girl with green skin and warts, despite the Wicked Witch actually being a very good character. Have you seen Wicked?" He grinned and nodded. "Maybe it was the pull of magic, that you two were drawn to her, and vise versa." Peter chuckled. "Whole family, for generations. She's not very wild, but she can go through an animal like one would. Which . . . I guess makes her wild."
Kiran looked at Peter and smiled with a nod. "Everyone has flaws though I hope your mother changes her opinion when it comes to me." he said with a nod. "Though I can tell you that there are no green warts or green skin, or anything like that." he said with a smile. At the question if he had ever seen Wicked he couldn't help but laugh. "I am a drama major." he said with a laugh. "I have been going to watch musicals for most of my life." he said with a smile and a shrug. "Of course I've seen Wicked, it is actually one of my favorites." he said smiling to himself. "I don't know what it was, but I am sure glad that she did adopt us. I cannot imagine a life without my mother being my mother, she has been such an integral part of my life." he sat back again and nodded. "It is just a weird picture to imagine." he said simply.
Peter nodded. "I'm sure she will, if I tell her. Like I said, your secret is safe with me. No one will know, unless you want them to. Could you give someone green skin and warts, if you wanted to?" Truly he was intrigued by damage and type of hexes that could be done, though the healing bit was interesting too. He experienced that though, with his speedy healing. When Kiran reminded him of what his schooling career choice was, Peter laughed. "Right, so you've seen them all." He gave Kiran a look. "Of course it's one of your favorites. Though I'd be lying if I said Teen Wolf wasn't a favorite show of mine." He nodded, feeling like he could understand that. "She helped you with magic, I don't know what I would do without my parents."
Kiran couldn't help but shrug at his friend. "Well I am grateful for the fact that you are so happy to keep this secret." he said with a smile. "Lets just keep it between you and me." he said with a nod. He was truly grateful for the fact that his friend was there to help him out. "I mean with some practice and the right knowledge of the right spells and rituals then I probably could, but it would be tough." he said with a smile. "That isn't really the right sort of magic for me." he said with a smile. "I haven't seen them all, there are lots and lots of musicals, but I've seen a lot of them." he admitted with a smile. "I worry about your choice in TV show, but you're the werewolf, how accurate is that TV show?" he asked with a smile. "Everyone's parents helps them in their own ways right?"
Peter put a hand up and shrugged. They only had a good twenty or so minutes -with Peter's driving- until they reached the station. Luckily there was no predicted awkward silence between the two young men. "I would hope that I could confide in someone with a secret similar to mine." He nodded. "Of course, Kiran. No one else will know." His parents, manager, Marian, and one assistant were the only people to ever know his furry secret. And of course his aunt from across state. "So it'd be difficult to turn someone green, but not make a shield?" Then Kiran explained. "So a witch is only skilled at certain . . . ranges of magic?" Peter laughed. "Maybe we can see a few together." The werewolf scoffed. "Teen Wolf is a great show. I don't know how much Jeff Davis got right on other species, but yeah, werewolves have the alpha-beta-omega system. We do turn into wolf-man beast during the full moon. We don't just get furry or turn into regular timber wolves like that Twilight crap." Peter -again- raised a hand. "Some parents, yeah."
Kiran looked at him, staring out the windscreen as they drove, admiring the landscape of wooded land and fields as it flashed past in the slightly dull April weather, with a couple of clouds decorating the sky. "To be honest I am impressed that you have a secret that is as interesting as mine." he said with a gentle smile. "I'm glad that I can trust you." he said bowing his head gently. "Well it is something like that, the magic you're talking about would probably come under something like hexing or illusion magic, and most Witches or Warlocks focus on one or two specilizations, I focus on healing and protection magic, and whilst I could try my hand at it, I just wouldn't have the same skills as a Witch or Warlock who had been practicing those strains of magic in the long term." he said with a smile. "Wow, are you sure this guy doesn't have some insider information?" he asked with a laugh. "He seems to have got most of the information that you have to a T. Which for a fluke is some pretty impressive work."
Peter grinned and looked like he was just complimented on his body. "Really? I guess most people's secrets are who they lost their virginity to, or that they've done cocaine or have an STD. I'm just glad none of those secrets are mine. You're secrets pretty intriguing too. So what types of magic are there? Why are you good at healing and protecting spells, and not at others?" Peter looked at him for a moment then turned back to the road. "I'm glad I can trust you too, Kiran. That means a lot to me." Peter didn't have a hard time grasping what Kiran explained. "Well, what if you suddenly just jumped into hexing spells? Could you ever become as good as others? Or is like, once you've passed a certain point, you're stuck with that type of magical field?" Peter rolled his eyes. "I used a bit of my money to visit the set of Teen Wolf. Needless to say . . . not everyone on there is human." He grinned wildly.
Kiran looked at his friend and laughed. "You know that is a really weird comparison to make, but I have never had an STD and I've yet to do Cocaine, although if I caught and STD or did Cocaine I believe that my mother would skin me alive." he said with a laugh. "But you are right, our secrets are a lot more interesting." he paused for a moment and shrugged once or twice. "There are plenty, more than I'd care to list off, from Potions to elemental magic my mother used to say, but I can give you a comprehensive list if you're interested." he said with a shrug. "I don't know, healing and protection spells simply came the most naturally to me." he said with a smile. "And why try to be good at something else?" he said with a smirk. He sighed and shrugged. "I doubt it, I'm naturally talented with healing and protection spells, they're my specialties, I could study hexes for years and I'd never be as good as I am at healing." he said with a shrug. "You can practice other forms of magic, just not as successfully." he shrugged and smiled. "Wow, I bet that was interesting." he said with a smile.
Peter shrugged. "We have similar mothers then, in more ways than one. I wonder if werewolves can get STD's . . . considering our supernatural healing. I'll have to ask my mother about that." He smirked. "Very interesting. It's strange, growing up with this life, it being totally normal, but just because everyone around you isn't like you, it makes your lifestyle still seem so special." Peter shook his head. "You don't have to worry about it, it's not like I could practice magic. I'm just intrigued. It's like vampires. I wouldn't want to experience their life, but I think it's so fascinating, especially when you're only brought up around werewolves. You're honestly the first person I've met that I know is a witch." He nodded, licking his lips, getting closer to the station. "Did you ever try any other types of magic before you found your calling? Heh, guess you're right." Peter nodded. "Oh, very. Some stories I could tell you, Kiran."
Kiran laughed. "Be careful when you tell your mother that." he said with a smirk. "Don't make it sound like you've got a supernatural STD because well I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that glare." he said with laugh. "You have no idea what it was like going through high school and trying to teach myself some of the more advanced protection and healing spells," he said with a chuckle. "No one understood my pain." he shrugged gently. "I think I understand what you mean." he said with a nod. "Well you'd be surprised by the number of Witches and Warlocks that there are in this town, it is actually pretty impressive." he said with a shrug. He thought about it for a moment. "I fiddled about with potion making and telekinesis for a little, but not really that much." he said with a shrug. "Another time." he said as Peter stepped outside and dashed into the station, before returning twenty minutes later. "Success?" he asked his friend eagerly.
Peter blushed and sighed. "Well, I'll make sure she knows that you and I aren't doing anything R-rated. I think she believes I'm already in some type of relationship with my friend Ricky." The thought of Ricky made him smile and blush harder. "Well tell me about it. We can share our stories. You have any idea what it was like having to shift three nights in a row when I had tests and homework to do? We share the pain, Kiran," Peter shook his head while chuckling. He cracked his knuckles when they came to another stop light. It ended after a few seconds though. "Would I? That kinda makes me a bit more worried, unless you think there's nothing to worry about. If there's been witches in this town so long and nothings happened, maybe its okay. Unless you account these last few weeks. I suspected there were a few witches doing something." Peter nearly stopped the car but kept his attention focused. "Telekinesis? Like, moving things with your mind? You can do that? Kiran that's awesome! Okay, hold on, I'll be back." Peter jumped out, still amazed. When he returned, Peter shrugged. "Yeah, it was alright. They police didn't know much."
Kiran spoke with a bright smile decorating his face. "Oh it wasn't me that I was worried about." he said laughing. "I think i know him, we tranquilized a cow together." he said simply, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. "Man that sounds awful. Magic did have its perks though, but my mother never let me get away with taking a 'sick' day knowing I could heal myself up for school." he said with a sad sigh. But it hadn't been all that bad. "No the witches I know are just fine." he said with a smile. "Yes, it is a form of magic, I can't do it well at all, my mother is much better." he said shrugging. "Get me to your house and I'll set up the barriers, and then i'd better get going."
Peter gave Kiran the weirdest expression. "You two tranquilized a cow?" He scoffed. "We'll talk about that when I get back." Peter snickered, nodding. "Yeah that's pretty freaking rough man. It was good to hear Peter didn't know of any "bad" witches or warlocks. "Well, at least you're good at healing and protecting. It came in hand last night. I'm glad you were there to help us." Peter nodded and started the car back up. "It shouldn't take more than ten minutes. So, you and Ricky did what to a cow?"
Kiran shook his head laughing. "Long story, and really not as interesting as it sounds." he said laughing with a shrug. He laughed once more and shrugged. "Well it was sort of going insane on the outskirts of one of the fields, it ended up charging Ricky and I had to cast a barrier around him to protect him, which in turn led to him guessing what I am no matter how fervently I denied it." he said with a shrug.
Peter gave Kiran a I bet you're lying look. "I haven't known Ricky long, but I'm willing to bet a story like that with him involved is pretty good." Peter's eyes widened when he learned Ricky now knew too about the supernatural. "So, he knows you're a witch, and he wasn't shocked or anything? What . . . what did he say? How was he acting?" Peter got the sense he and Ricky would grow to be great friends. And the boy already made it clear he wanted to kiss Peter.
Kiran shrugged. "I'm not sure that he knows for certain, I tried to play it off as a weird freak of nature event." he said with a frown. "At first he was definitely shocked, but then you'd be shocked if a cow had just stopped dead in its tracks as it was about to gore you." he shrugged. "It was entirely understandable." he said with a laugh.
Peter nodded. "So he may not know, cool. Do you think the cow did it because all the other animals are acting strange lately?" Peter turned down the road and then into his neighborhood. "Did you ever get those chalk markings on your sidewalk?"
Kiran nodded. "It was all that weird stuff that was going on." he didn't tell Peter that he knew exactly what was going on, he didn't need that sort of pressure. "But yeah he may be entirely oblivious." he shrugged. "Yeah we got those." he said as they drove into Peter's neighborhood, that was some really weird going ons, although this is just as weird."
Peter shook his head, pulling into the driveway. "My folks aren't here, hopefully they won't be back for a while." Peter sighed and took off his seat belt. The boy laughed and got out of the car. "Poor boy. He's really sweet and funny, I hope he doesn't get roped into any trouble. I'm sorry about that, Kiran. You don't know what it means, do you?" He pushed his hand through his hair again and walked through the front door. "Welcome to the Turner household."
Kiran shrugged. "Well that is lucky for us, it would be kind of hard to explain what we're going to do if they were in." he said as he stepped out of the car and looked up at the house, "He seemed nice enough, and he was cool about it all." he said laughing. "Don't be sorry about it Peter. You did nothing wrong." he said with a smile as he walked into the house. "Well thank you, lets get set up, I need some sage and something from the house, some dust or ground up brick will do fine."
Peter whistled sharply. "Yeah. How long will it take to put this up? Not that I'm rushing you, but you said you have to go somewhere, right?" Peter nodded, smiling while thinking of Ricky. "I like Ricky a lot." The boy shrugged. "I know, but I'm sorry you had to get it. I'd be really creeped out." Peter looked around the house and nodded. "Sage, okay. I think we have some." Peter walked into the kitchen and picked sage out of the pantry. "Got the sage! You said dust? Will any dust do? Like dust from the window or something?"
Kiran nodded. "Not long at all..." he said setting about and starting getting ready. He looked at his friend and shrugged once more. "Uh it has to be a bit of your house for this ritual to work properly." he said with a shrug.
Peter looked around and walked outside. He pulled one of the smaller floor board pieces from the patio and showed it to Kiran. "What about this?"
Kiran looked at the piece of the floor board and smiled. "That will work brilliantly." he said with a nod before taking it and sitting down in the middle of the lounge. He slipped his eyes closed and began chanting gently. Soon a barrier began rising around the house, protecting it from any insects that would be coming after the occupants of the house.
Peter grinned and nodded. "Perfect." Crossing his arms, Peter shut the door and looked out the window to make sure his parents weren't coming home. His mother would be the wilder of the two. In all honesty, this was dangerous. Kiran could be lying to Peter, casting some curse or hex. He didn't get any sense of lying though, and Kiran truly seemed kind and helpful. Looking around, Peter saw a nearly transparent wave passing over the house. "That' it, wow."
Kiran nodded. "Have you got any salt?" he asked with a shrug. "Preferably rock salt." he said picking up the jar and handing it over to Peter. "Keep that safe and over the entrances to your house make sure that you put salt and any iron, that will give you a little extra protection." he said with a smile. "Now I really have to go, I'll see you soon friend." he said before smiling and stepping out the front door.
