did i mention i'm a fan...?
pspsps polyam witch garden-sim game people
Mondays are for mushrooms, trees get posted Tuesday, on Friday y’all get flowers, and Saturdays I post crystals/rocks/stones.
I’m also posting Witch of the Greenwood -specific art every other Saturday for screenshot Saturday, since that art will probably appear in the actual game.
I think on the off week in between WotG art, I’m gonna start posting information about the game? Yeah. Yes. I think that’d be a good way to keep up with writing, and a good way to learn how to summarize my game for promotional material + pitching, if I ever do that.
Okay, so, that was a bit self-reflective, but I’ve got a question: Would y’all prefer:
1) itty bitty weekly snippets about the game
2) bi-weekly (i.e. every other week) slightly longer posts
3) one decently long post about the game per month?
Lemme know in the replies and/or tags? you can just reply 1 / 2 / 3 in either, or give me a longer opinion :)
If there are specific questions you want answered about the game, you can also ask ‘em on this post or send me an ask and I’ll add that to the weekly / bi-weekly / monthly post!
Witch of the Greenwood: Potions
Last time, I wrote an update about some of the planned relationship dynamics I’m planning to add to Witch of the Greenwood (if you missed it, you can check it out here). So far, there are 18 characters you can pursue, but I have a feeling I’ll be increasing that to 21.
Moving on though, ‘cause there’s more to Witch of the Greenwood than relationships! (Though I am really excited for those lol)
When I first thought up WotG, I started creating it around the idea of a witch who sucked at magic and, instead of focusing on spellcasting, completed their witch training with an emphasis on potion making. So that’s what you’ll be doing as you play as Elluna :)
You’ll be able to grow, find, and barter for potion ingredients, and you’ll use those ingredients to discover and create new potions, which you can then use to barter for other stuff - like furniture and decorations, for starters.
In addition to bartering, villagers will ask for your help from time to time. It’s up to you to figure out an alchemical solution to their problems, as a part of your overarching quest to advance your witchy experience enough to prove that you deserve the title of a full-blown Witch.
And if you don’t manage to do enough to pass that magic test? Well... you might be forced to redo all of your training - all three years of it. A long time to be away from the forest and its residents.

March's 3D model is a few pieces for a potion cauldron intended to work for any future prototyping of a potion game idea I have.
