i’m getting to the point now where if i really apply myself - and sit right down with it when i wake up and don’t try to start anything else - i can write about 500 words on whatever’s my main project, and then 4-500 words on another one before my mother comes home from work. i only make myself do it five days a week, and if i have a holiday or a transcription obviously all bets are off, but i’m in a place where the system is more or less reliable.
sure, it’s tiring, and you’re supposed to be able to do it a lot quicker than that, and it does feel like a pittance to see i wrote 133k last year when i’m friends or degrees of separation from people who wrote over 300. but it’s better than doing 83k in 2015, which is better than... ??? in 2014 i wasn’t keeping track, but not a lot. and it’s leagues better than sitting in my dingy college apartment, drawing all day ‘cause i was so freaked about writing badly that i never wrote.
i mean, making money at it is still... well... never mind, but it tells me tgoed wasn’t a fluke. i might actually be building myself up.
