I was going to write this fic but I have too many WIPs at the moment and I figured I'd offer this idea up to someone else if they want to take it. The fic has Jewish Bucky Barnes and it takes place right after TWS where Steve finds him soon after. Bucky has no memory of his previous life and still barely remembers who he was. Steve does his best to help him regain his identity and does his best to make sure Bucky is following Jewish traditions. And a holiday will come up and Steve is trying to help Bucky celebrate but he can't quite remember how and he's doing his best but Bucky, who remembers nothing about it, but still feels that its wrong and is just looking at Steve like WTF are you doing. Then Steve remembers that google exists, looks it up and realizes how off he was. But Bucky appreciates the effort. I always wanted a Bucky recovery fic where Steve respects the culture he came from. (Whatever the author headcanons that to be)

Oh! Jewish Bucky! Nice nice nice. I’m someone who will read pretty much anything when it comes to either Steve or Bucky’s heritage because I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other (except about Steve being raised by his catholic mother because Irish but even that I can look past if the story is good enough) but I know for a fact how important Jewish bucky is to a lot of people, and there should definitely be more fics with that in mind. I also love Steve trying so hard to fill this void that Bucky knows exists but can’t remember anything about, and forgetting about Google lmao that’s on brand. I mean he hasn’t lived with it at his fingertips for over a decade like everyone else around him, it’s not his instinct to ask questions that way. And Bucky knowing something is off without being able to put his finger on it — that would be so frustrating, god. I love it, I love everything about this.
