BASICALLY. After Undertale, Clover realized that they had... no chance of coming back to life. Their body had been buried a long time ago. So, they instead gave their soul to Alphas to try and heal Kanako with.

It... worked, yes. However the instability and fragile nature of Kanako's soul meant that instead of using Clover's soul to heal her own, Kanako's soul kind of... fused with Clover's, hence the clover shaped soul. Now the two exist as a single conscious and while it's... mainly Kanako's aspects who survived the fusion, quite a bit of Clover is still in there.

...particularly their love of cowboys, unwavering sense of justice and compassion, and their tendency to eat things that they... really shouldn't.

Kanaclo (They didn't feel like being very original with their new name and just mashed their two old ones together) is very fun-loving and goofy, though doesn't really talk unless they really need to, preferring to get by with expressions. They have 4 arms, 4 eyes, and 3 tails.
