Week 1 prompt: Divine Normality

My thoughts:

YAYAYAYAY (Nico is my fav)

I'm slightly disappointed bc there were a bunch of other side characters that he could have chosen and given more context to, he could have also done a before they got to chb luke, thalia and annabeth novel.

I'm concerned about the way he's going to represent the couple bc hes not the best at getting these things right. He is also most likely going to further erase trauma.

Thoughts about what is going to happen in the book:

My biggest guess is that its going to be them going to tartarus to get bob back. My concern with this is that more inconsistency are going to be brought forward because we all know he does that a lot.

There is also most likely going to be a Percy and Annabeth cameo because Rick always includes them in his novels. I am also worried that the hinting that Annabeth is homophobic (which is bullshit) would be elaborated on.

I am excited though because if he does this right it could be a great opportunity to further flesh out Pipers character and her relationship with Shel. Its also exciting because of more representation. Over all I'm excited to see what may happen, though I don't have high hopes for it being a good novel.

In summary:

While I am excited I am also very worried about consistency, representation and other eras that rick may make. So I am most apprehensive and have mixed feelings about this.

NICO AND HIS HYPNOKINESIS

* Nico and Will falling asleep side by side, Nico’s dream walking skills growing so powerful they boarder on uncontrollable

* Nico always getting the worst glimpses of the most dangerous possible futures and prophecies, his connection to dead and dying heroes as a son of Hades and the officiant of camp burial rites

* Sometimes these powerful dreams spill over, and Nico is helpless to stop his own dream walking, as if his nightmares were so powerful they could swallow anyone else whole

* Will being forced to watch his boyfriends tragic nightmares: the anguish, the loneliness and impossible losses

* Will watches him shiver alone on the floor of the labyrinth, and desperately pleading with Hades to release Percy, who always abandoned him- even heroes don’t find him worthy of saving: too dark, too friendly with death and shadow

* And will watches him stumble through tartarus. The worst of the dreamscapes is where where Nico stumbles, Stygian Iron sword drawn, staring fire eyed at the goddess of misery next to a pit so deep and bottomless Wills sure it opens up on the other end of the universe

* The tormented, bloody face of Akhlys looking at Nico and telling him he’s perfect, he couldn’t possibly be more miserable. The echoing roar of grief in Nico’s chest, amplified by the goddess terrible proximity

* One night Will fights it, calling to Nico, growing suddenly and unexpectedly and so painfully bright it wakes him and Nico up, dousing the dark Hades cabin in yellow sunshine

* The shadows disappears, Nico laughs. Some of the cold seeps from the room.

* “I guess you’re a little little more than glow in the dark” He’d kid, but his eyes would be serious. He’d know what Will has seen inside him

* Will’s light barely dims as they shuffle closer, holding each other, silent but always close enough to remind each other there will be no more solo battles
