An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
(Awesome moodboard by @eek-a-tron!)
Three days after their supposed reconciliation, Ben still hadn't moved back into the ship.
Even more frustrating, he was still blocking his thoughts from Rey. Today felt different, however. Like more than a simple block. In fact, she couldn't sense him at all.
He wasn't gone gone, she noted. He wasn't dead. He just wasn't there. As if he was blocking his entire being from everything. As if someone had punched a Ben-shaped hole in the Force.
Or start at the beginning here.
Please indulge me in a little note: I am misting up a bit, finally posting this chapter. Every time I tried to work on the rewrite, I wanted to slam my computer shut, run away, and join the Empire. This chapter was complete when I lost the working file, and I had just decided to move it from chapter 10 to chapter 11. It was early-written, so it had a ton of time and affection into it when it disappeared.
Thank you to everyone who left a lovely comment or sent me an encouraging message. Even seeing the hit count edge up by just 1-2 per day was so helpful, knowing people were still reading this story.
I don’t have an ETA on the final chapter, but I do hope it won’t take as long as this one! Thanks again! *MUAH*
