AvAddiction gave us a good bit of development i will not deny that, but it still revolves around the "addict" label they were given by both alan and the fans, and its personally really sad to see cause there's so much more to em thats just. ignored?

obviously things like the lava incident are still key parts of their character [which again, i am not complaining about that i love me some trauma] but theyre also a gardener and a bassist and a fashion lover and a foodie please guys they're a foodie make them a cook or a baker give them a cute little apron can ANYONE HEAR MEEEE

and they love!!! blue loves so easily and so dam hard!! yeah they were a bit annoyed at king after avm30 but thats genuinely the only time i can think of where they didn't just. forgive them!!! this is a trait somewhat shared by the color gang in all fairness, but even between the cg blue just loves them so much!!! an example that comes to mind is when they attempted to infiltrate rocket co in ava 10[??]. blue only resorted to violence when green and red got dunked on and they grabbed yellow. they only attacked cause their friends were hurt. chat blue's so "heart over head" coded im genuinely ill

Even when I was like, 8, I still saw Blue as at the very least caring— surprises me to hear some people arent just joking with the addict thing. They're a great character in my eyes, even if they arent my favorite (though, theyre definitely up there! my minecraft java user is stickfigureblue since yellow was too long)

Ok anyway. Why does the fandom think Navy is just the stereotypical abusive dad archetype...... In. In the flashback he never hits Purple or Orchid without agreeing to a fight, hell he leaves the family and based on his body language he leaves because he was about to hit Orchid in the first place! You could make the argument he left because he realized what a danger he was to Purple and Orchid or how he was terrible as a parent from that argument!

I must admit, I feel very similarly. The way I viewed it, Purple simply didnt feel up to their dad's standards. They wanted to be good enough for him and loved by him, and didnt understand why he left— After all, he left when they were young!

At no point in Purple's little vent to Green do they say Navy actively abused them and their mother. He simply pushed them a bit too hard, at most.

TLDR; I may not be a Navy fan, but OH MY GOD I AGREE SO HARD.

cause the most stereotypical verions of these characters have this bright eyed outlook that everyone has some bit of good in their heart. yeah thats not a bad mindset but its become very overused, and even when people try to steer away from it, the characters just feel like a cheap knockoff trying to be different to get attention.

second, on the other hand, feels a lot more down to earth. they're full of quirks and flaws that make them feel like a human, more than a trope. they do catch a case of main character syndrome occasionally, but second still has anger issues, is still narcolepsy coded, along with other things someone else could probably expand on cause im not as versed on second as others would be lol

theyre in no way a perfect protagonist, and this is not even mentioning powers cause thats a WHOLE other kettle of fish, but they're still a lot more interesting than some other "chosen one"s I've seen
