Oh, you are tickling the best part of my brain right now with this fluffy ask. I love this so much, and I hope this works well!! UT Papyrus/Creampuff: As much as he hates you leaving for a holiday, he’s got to admit that you probably need it at this point! Creampuff knows the signs of you being tired, and he’s well aware of how you crash without a good rest. This break is the best thing for you, even if he really wants to go with you and if he doesn’t want you to go. He’ll give you sad puppy looks the whole way to the airport, even as he proclaims loudly that you’ll do fine without him, not the other way around. Once you hand over the cushion, though, the moment you’re out of sight, he is going to open it, no hesitation. It takes all of seven seconds to read the note on the interior, then Creampuff takes a mad dash through the entire airport just to see you and tell you an enthusiastic acceptance. He won’t let you leave without at least one or two smooches before you get on.

“YOU CANNOT EXPECT ME TO NOT LOVE ON YOU AFTER THIS!! YOU ARE AMAZING AND WONDERFUL, AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!”

HT Papyrus/Sweets: Of course, he knows that you’re working just as hard as he is and, in some cases, more than him! Sweets doesn’t want you to burn yourself out by overworking to the point of stress, so it’s highly likely he’s forcing you suggested that you take this vacation. He’ll gently push you to do well and keep checking in on you as needed while you pack, reminding you that this is time to not think about anything stressful. However, as you hand over the cushion, the skeleton will hold it carefully and ponder what’s inside. Unlike his counterpart, he waits until you’ve told him you safely arrived to ask about it over text. You can bet your absolute bottom dollar, though, that once Sweets has the pouch open that he’s calling you in near hysterics. He wanted to propose, but you’re just too dang cute and sweet, even if this proposal isn’t in person.

“Oh My Stars, You Shouldn’t Have Gotten Such A Nice Ring, It Must Have Been So Expensive, But I Love It And You So Much I Can Hardly Breathe!!!!”

HT Sans/Axe: This particular skeleton might actually forget that you’re going on vacation a few times until he sees you packing. There is an initial panic on Axe’s end that he did something stupid and you’re upset, but a quick reminder soothes his worries. The moment you leave, though, with the package delivered in full, he’s waiting for you to get back. The ironic thing about the cushion is that he won’t realize it has an openable compartment until either his brother points it out to him or until you get back. Even then, he’s hesitant to open it until he has your full permission, so once you confirm that no, it’s not something you’re taking back and yes, he can open it, Axe will gently pry it open. The very second he sees the ring, he knows exactly what the intention is, and you’ll have an elated but teary skeleton on your hands who won’t quit saying yes.

“oh, i was supposed to open it? whoops, sorry lamb chop, let me just... oh... oh. you... you really want to... to marry me..? i... you... uh... yes...” 

UF Sans/Red: Normally, this boi would hate to have you sent off on your own without him or someone he trusts going along with, but you need a break. It’s not often that Red will swallow his pride and protectiveness for anyone’s sake, but you have a massive soft spot in his metaphorical heart. He’ll help you pack up your things, sort out any missing items, and then find a way to get you settled wherever your destination is. When you hand over the cushion, he’s concerned and confused, but he dutifully waits until you leave to open it. However, unlike all the skeletons on this list, Red almost panics. The entire time you’re gone is utter hell to him, and he’s a confused mess until you get back. Even though he doesn’t mean to come off as mean or angry, he will confront you about this. It’s not that he will say no, but he needs to hear it from you to know this is real.

“no, no, no, you have t’ say it... please, indulge me a lil’ sweetheart? i... i need t’ know that y’re serious ‘bout this cuz i don’t think i could handle y’ fakin’ this...”

I HAVE RISEN FROM THE ASHES IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE MYSELF FEEL BETTER ABOUT NOT WRITING!! LET’S HECKING GO, MY TINY TART ARMY!

HT Sans/Axe: It’s probably not too difficult to lift the money off of Axe without even having to go to the trouble of mugging him, but he’s not resisting. He would rather not smack a kid around, so he hands over the cash easily enough but does make sure that he tails all the kids for a bit. The eldest child might catch an earful from him about not stealing, but there’s so much good intention and caring behind it that it’s hard to have any negative thoughts about it. Axe doesn’t want to see them starving, so he’ll do his best to make sure that they either get direct support from the monster community or some other means to get them back in someplace that will help them. If nothing else, he will find monster homes for them to get adopted into so they have a consistent source of food and shelter. This skeleton does not want to see anyone starve; they are no exception.

“look, you don’t have to stay here, but there’s nothing between you and a hot meal, ‘cept your pride. can you come get something inside? just for a minute?”

HT Papyrus/Sweets: While this particular skeleton is much less likely to just hand over cash, these are literal children who are coming up to him. Sweets has no clue why they would try to attack him, of all the people or monsters to choose, but he does resist slightly. After they end up taking the money off of him, he doesn’t have to walk far to make sure they’re all okay. Much like his brother, this boi will tail them and find someone to take care of all these children. However, unlike his brother, if no one else is willing, Sweets will immediately take up all the children and adopt them into his house. He won’t do it without their approval first, but he wants nothing more than to break the stereotype of monsters from under the mountain being mindless. As he works with them, he does the best he can to provide for their every need. 

“Of Course, You Don’t Have To Stay Here, But I Think You Might Find It Preferable To Being In The Streets! Please, For At Least One Night..?”

US Sans/Blue: This boi does not want people mugging him, so he will hand over money under the pretense of turning in the perpetrators as soon as they least expect it. However, when he discovers that it’s children, Blue won’t be able to bring himself to follow through with it, and he won’t call any authorities. The children will still get an earful, and most definitely won’t be able to leave the vicinity until he tells them what he needs to say. Despite his less-than-short speech, Blue really does mean well for the kids and is willing to open up his home to them, at their own pace. It’s offered to them immediately, and he doesn’t want to press too much, but even if they say no, he’ll check in on them occasionally. He brings them all manner of healthy, nutritious, and non-perishable snacks to eat, and takes care of them at a distance if they choose.

“WELL, YOU MAY NOT WANT TO STAY WITH ME, BUT THAT IS FINE! ON ONE CONDITION!! YOU MUST MEET ME HERE EACH WEEK FOR FOOD!”

US Papyrus/Stretch: This is the one skeleton who actually ends up panicking when there’s a knife pulled on him, even though he’s only bones. The last time he thought about a knife wielding child... don’t go there ...well it’s best not to dwell on it. The kids might get what little cash he has on his person, but Stretch is exceedingly cautious about engaging with the children afterwards. Most likely, he will assist them whenever possible from the backlines: giving a tip to a local non-profit here and there, or “dropping” food at one of their usual spots. It will take a long time for him to warm to them, especially if the oldest is the ringleader and will pull a knife again. Stretch understands why this one does it, but it sets off alarm bells for a reason, and he’s not playing with that nonsense. Best for him to keep track of them for a short while without direct contact. 

“nah, there’s no need to get too close to them. the eldest is protective, rightfully so, but if we don’t have to cross paths, all the better for us both for now.”

Ohoho! This is one of my favorite tropes to read, so I am honored that I can write one out for you, Anon! Let’s get the fluff going!

US Sans/Blue: While it’s not incredibly subtle, should you decide to wear his magic color in the form of a lipstick, it’s still something that fills him up with an incredible amount of pride! There is nothing more that Blue likes than to see the color of his magic on his datemate, whether it’s the clothes you wear or the makeup you choose. That being said, it doesn’t mean he always notices when you decide to pucker up and leave him with a few lipstick impressions on his skull. There’s nothing more embarrassing, but more gratifying than to see that you’ve managed to put a few colors on his head. The gesture will be returned in kind with plenty of kisses and nuzzles, though with fewer markings on your end. Blue’s always happy to have something as sweet as a simple kiss print on his face if it means you’re showing you care about him.

“WELL PLAYED, MY DELIGHTFUL DATEMATE! YOU MANAGED TO LEAVE KISSES ON ME UP UNTIL LUNCH, AND I WAS NONE THE WISER!”

UF Sans/Red: For the most part, Red is highly uncomfortable with loads of visible physical affection. PDA is something that creates what he thinks is an aura of weakness, even though he secretly loves it. There are too many things that fall into negative light for him should this occur on a day where leaving the house is necessary. If you do put kisses all over his skull, it’s best to do it when it’s just you, him, and his brother in the house. When he discovers it, a cherry red blush will coat almost the entirety of his skull, especially if it’s the color of his magic. He’s delighted that you’re able to give him little reminders that you love him, but it’s something you’ll need to do sparingly. Too many times of kissing his skull per month, and you’ll end up flustering Red to the point of oblivion. He appreciates it, however, and he’ll be sure to show you his appreciation. 

“c’mon sweetheart, you’re really makin’ me feel all flustered ‘n’ stuff with this affection. can y’ give a skeleton a break, or is this what m’ life is gonna be?”

SF Sans/Black: Again, just like Blue, it’s going to be pretty obvious when you start wearing his magic in the form of lipstick. The violet color is definitely something Black revels in seeing on you, knowing that you’re inadvertently showing people that you’re his datemate. There’s nothing more that he loves than seeing you wear that rich, elegant purple all over you, and he honestly wants you wearing nothing but that color. Regardless, when you start pressing kisses to his face, leaving lipstick marks on his skull, he doesn’t initially appear flustered. However, he refuses to take the prints off until you personally can take them off him. Black wants to watch you remove each one so that he knows how many kisses he has to give you in return. You’re in for a long day or two, depending on the number of prints you’ve left his covering his skull.

“IT SEEMS THAT YOU LEFT A RECORD AMOUNT OF LIPSTICK PRINTS TODAY! I SUPPOSE THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO LET ME RECIPROCATE!”

HT Sans/Axe: There is nothing that will get this boi flustered more than if you give him kisses all over his head. Now, for Axe, you are going to have to be more careful around his skull since he has the massive crack in it. The more you kiss him, though, the happier he will be, and you’ll be rewarded with many an hour of affection. The problem with his memory issues is that he won’t quite remember where you put the lipstick prints. There will be some days where he can remember that you gave him a little mark on his cheekbone or something, but other days, he’ll forget until you remind him or he sees a mirror. When that happens, he’ll turn a pretty shade of dark blue, and go find you so that he can reciprocate the affection. Axe really does love seeing your lipstick prints on his skull, as they remind him how much you love him.

“you should know that the gesture is greatly appreciated, lamb chop. there ain’t nothin here that could make me happier than this.”

UT Sans/Vanilla: Each time Vanilla sees you breaking out the lipstick, you’ve created a Pavlovian response that he runs over to get smooches from you. He’s taken up the impromptu job of being your lipstick checker, seeing if you have smooth coverage for the makeup. It’s honestly the sweetest thing, where he comes rushing over and is practically squirming in anticipation for when you turn to give him a smooch. He won’t let anyone take off the marks for the entire day until you get home and can remove them yourself. Initially, before this became a routine, he got extraordinarily flustered upon receiving kisses from you. Over time, though, Vanilla became not only used to it but seeking it out and thriving on the affection. You’re going to have a very happy skeleton on your hands, so long as you keep up the trend of covering his skull with lipstick kisses.

“aw, come on babe, you’ve got lipstick already out, why not use that pretty blue? it looks just like my magic, and it’d make me happy to see you wear it, please?”

Bro, I completely understand this dropping of food being the absolute last straw. I hate having my food dropped, and it’s always such a bummer to not be able to recover it if it hits the ground.

UF Sans/Red: The first thought that runs through his skull is that you’re just upset that you dropped your food, but he knows you better than that. Red may not be the best with his own emotions, but he sure as heck knows that something else is going on. He’ll help you clean up the mess, all while gently prompting you to talk about the underlying issue. He won’t hesitate to be blunter and more forceful if you don’t want to open up to him, but this skeleton is determined to know what’s going on with his honorary sibling. Red doesn’t like to see you suffering silently, even though he knows he would do the exact same thing in your shoes. If there’s anything he can do within reason to help you, say the word, and he’ll be on it, or grab his brother to help out. 

“look, there ain’t much y’ can do ‘bout a shitty situation, but we got each other, right? what’re siblings for, after all?”

SF Sans/Black: The second he spots tears, Black is on high alert for what in the world caused you to be so upset. If you decide to spill the beans, metaphorically this time, on what’s gotten you all broken up, he’ll do his best to put his hurt aside to help you. In particular, this skeleton hates it when he can’t help out, and the fact that you wanted to hide this from him stings a little. Call it a sense of overprotectiveness, but he doesn’t like it when his siblings get hurt. Black will be sure to clean up the mess, get you a new plate of food, and plop you down on the couch for a little TLC and a chat. If you choose to let him know what’s going on, he’s got his protective mode already up and running to help you out. No matter what it is, this skeleton knows how to get you out of a bad situation.

“REST ASSURED THAT I WILL NOT REST UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED! YOU CAN AND WILL GET BETTER, I CAN GUARANTEE IT!”

HT Sans/Axe: You’ll have to forgive this skeleton for his first reaction to the situation being about the food and not you. Instinct kicks in really hard for Axe, and he isn’t always thinking about emotions if food gets added into the equation. That being said, once his initial response of “save the food” goes away, he’ll be more willing to chat with you about what’s going on. If the food is the issue, he’s lightning fast to bring you another plate before you even sit down to talk with him. He makes sure you eat as you explain, if you can, but he won’t force it if you’re feeling ill. Axe is very compassionate, and his siblings get the fiercest protection he can muster in any given state. The whole time you’re talking with him, he will have you in his lap or against his side, listening. 

“it’s not a good situation to be in, but you’re strong, and you know that’s true. there’s not a thing in this world that you couldn’t do, and we’re here for you.”

HT Papyrus/Sweets: Right from the moment the food falls, Sweets knows something’s not quite right with you. Not to be rude or mean in saying that, but he knows that you wouldn’t willingly waste food with the two of them. With that established, he is very quick to get everything sorted out, cleaning up the mess and getting you cozy on the couch. You’re going to get a very gentle therapy session, if you need one, and this skeleton will be listening in the whole time. Sweets knows that there’s a definitive need for you to have an active listener, since you’ve bottled up whatever’s been going on for some time. As you talk, he’ll gently stroke your hair or back, chiming in if you want him to every so often, This boi is definitely going to make sure you feel better by the end of your chat.

“Well, I Cannot Say For Certain That Everything Will Be Immediately Fixed. However! I Can Assure You That We Will Still Be Here For Your Support!”

Poor bean, I know that there’s a lot of self-deprecation here, but we’re gonna get some comfort from the bois!! Let’s hop in!

UF Sans/Red: Initially, he doesn’t overthink your drunken ramblings to be something that would give him any concerns. Red has been like that on many occasions while he was trying to drink away his sorrows, knowing that it doesn’t really help too much. However, when you start to tell him that you don’t deserve to be alive, that nothing you had mattered in life, he begins to panic. He’s sure you don’t mean it, but drunken words speak of sober thoughts, right? This particular skeleton knows what it’s like to be very low in life, having been in a living hell. Red’s quick to pull you into his arms and reassure you about all the good things in the world. One of those things is you, so he’s making sure that you’ve got all the affection he can give you for the next several months.

“look, there’s a ton ‘f stuff that’s really bad right now, but you’ve got lots ‘f things workin’ for ya here too. you have a good life ‘ere, ‘n’ we love ya.”

UT Sans/Vanilla: Vanilla doesn’t really like to have someone drinking in excess and causing drunkenness, so this might not happen unless you’re out on your own for a bit. He’s not going to force you to stop, but he knows that you’re going through some stuff in your head. Sometimes alcohol is a medication he turns to as well, but he knows that it can take you down some dark avenues. When you start talking about how nothing you have is deserved, he knows that you’ve had too much, and it’s time to switch to water. Once you’ve sobered up a little more, Vanilla will make sure that you get taken care of, and you’re going to have to talk about it. Sure, you’re going to avoid it, but this is something serious that needs to have an equally severe discussion between the two of you.

“yes, it hurts to talk about stuff like this, but we can’t just brush over it like it doesn’t exist. we have to talk about it sometime, or do you want therapy?”

US Papyrus/Stretch: At first, much like Red, this particular skeleton doesn’t have too much thought into you drinking, though he does monitor it a lot closer than his Fell-Verse counterpart. Sure, Stretch doesn’t mind the occasional drink every now and then, but he knows that there’s a lot of stuff that can go badly very quickly. Once you start spewing about how your life isn’t worth living and that you’re a waste of space, this skeleton puts away the drinks and cuddles you all night. He isn’t too much of a wordsmith, though he knows several ways that he can comfort you when you’re tired of being here. Stretch had a whole lot of times where he hated everything, and he was included on that list. He will be sure that he can give you as many reasons to keep on living as possible.

“it’s tough to keep living sometimes, and we both know that, but you so much to live for. do we need to go over some examples for us to discuss?”

SF Papyrus/Rus: Unlike any of the other skeletons, Rus actually doesn’t like drinking all too much, both for himself and other people. Where he came from, not having the full mental capacity to defend yourself and fight was practically a death sentence. Having said that, once the rambling starts, this boi pulls any last drinks out of your hands and starts giving you water instead. Once you start talking to him about having all of the doubts and not wanting to live, he takes more immediate action. No sooner have the words left your mouth than you are being scooped up and cuddled into his chest. Rus refuses to put you down until you end up talking to him about what you’ve been going through and your thoughts. He wants to take care of you, please tell him about what’s going on.

“darlin’, you can’t just bottle all this stuff up, you gotta tell someone what’s happenin’ in your life. what’s got you all broke up like this, darlin’?”

That’s actually kinda sweet, I’m not going to lie. The idea of being with the skeletons in the same sort of manner in death is very much a kind of couple’s goals (or I might just be sick in the head). Warnings for talk of death here are in effect, and it’s going to be a little shorter than usual!

US Sans/Blue: While it’s definitely something he would rather not talk about, Blue does acknowledge that there will be a time when the two of you will die. He doesn’t like to think about it, as he doesn’t want to ever leave you or have you leave him. However, when you surprise him with this statement, telling him that you want to be dust with his dust, you’ll get a lot of tears right off the bat. He’s very startled by it, but it’s also extraordinarily touching to have you tell him that you want to be together in death, as you were in life.

“WHILE I THINK IT IS PAINFUL TO TALK ABOUT, I WOULD BE HONORED IF YOU WERE TO REST WITH ME. YOU ARE THE MOST PRECIOUS AND AMAZING PERSON, DO YOU KNOW THAT? I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.”

US Papyrus/Stretch: This really isn’t a conversation he wants to have with you while both of you are still alive and well. Stretch knows better than that, though, and there’s nothing more romantic than your soulmate professing love in both life and death. He might tear up a little, but he keeps his emotions in check for a bit so that he can talk to you about it. It’s a big decision, after all, and one that you don’t technically have to make for a long time. Despite that, it still touches his soul deeply, and he would love nothing more than to be with you all the way. 

“it’s undoubtedly one of the most significant decisions you could ever make, but it’s really something special that you want to make that decision with me. not sure why you’d choose that, but you aren’t going to hear a complaint here.”

SF Sans/Black: While some of the others might be uncomfortable with hearing that their soulmate is already thinking ahead to death, Black is actually okay with it. He came from a world where the next day was not a guarantee, so he wants to know that you’re really committed. Hearing this soothes both worry and sparks something more affection within his soul. He’s certain to make sure you know just how much your promise has affected him, but he won’t overdo anything if you request him to keep it on the down-low.

“YOU ARE TRULY SOME KIND OF ANGEL SENT DOWN FOR ME, AREN’T YOU? THERE IS NO ONE ELSE I WOULD RATHER HAVE BY MY SIDE, EITHER IN DEATH OR IN LIFE, DEAREST SOULMATE.”

SF Papyrus/Rus:  This skeleton isn’t particularly sure about why you want to make that decision, but he knows a whole lot better than to question your motives. Rus trusts you wholly as his soulmate, and as such, your choice is entirely yours to make, and he will support you so long as it isn’t destructive. This makes his soul feel all warm and fuzzy, knowing that he’s had a profound enough impact for you to request this. The rest of your day is going to be filled with snuggles and love, and he won’t be able to quit grinning.

“you really are somethin’ special, ain’t you, darlin’? gotta say, though, of all th’ people to be my soulmate, there isn’t anyone else that this bag o’ bones would want by his side but you, okay? love ya, darlin’.”

Aww, this reminds me of that one video with James Veitch, and him being a terrible roommate!! Let’s jump into it, then!

UT Sans/Vanilla: Honestly, this is the highlight of his day, just finding out where you’ve hidden a new duck for him to find. Every time you tell Vanilla you’ve hidden new ducks in the house, he ends up going on the hunt, hoping to see more of them. He’ll turn it into a game, where any ducks that show up in his house will now be brought into yours to be hidden for you to find afterward. So long as you’re okay with him similarly returning the prank, there’s nothing wrong with you hiding them in his house. You’re going to find a lot of specialty ducks from him, things like cowboy ones with lassos, or ducks in the formations of little celebrations or battalions. Vanilla is more than happy to have ducks, and it will never be a nuisance to him, just a fun little trick two friends are playing.

“found the ducks the other day, really smart of you to put them in the laundry basket. we wouldn’t have found them if it weren’t laundry day.”

UT Papyrus/Creampuff: On the flip side of the coin, Creampuff kinda finds it a little more annoying than his brother does. It’s something that sure is interesting, but he would prefer that he doesn’t have to keep cleaning up these tiny ducks that keep showing up. He starts off by being very annoyed by it, but it will transition into more of a happier memory. This skeleton won’t necessarily encourage that kind of behavior, but the more it happens, the less inclined he is to call it out. After a while, he’ll start to put a few of them back at your house, not hiding them, but leaving them out with some small notes. Each one gives a duck a name and an adventure that they went on, and Creampuff starts to enjoy looking for his new little yellow friends every morning!

“I FOUND PERCIVAL OVER IN THE CABINET! HE MUST HAVE CLIMBED UP VERY HIGH WITH ONLY THE FINEST OF CLIMBING GEAR!” 

UF Sans/Red: Much like Vanilla, this turns out to be the highlight of Red’s whole week, since it just shows up when he isn’t expecting it. Each time he thinks that he found the last one, ready to gloat to you that the final duck has been uncovered, another one or two pop up. He’ll start off snorting really hard in laughter, guffawing as hard as physically possible without breaking a rib. He won’t hesitate to send you a picture or two with himself in the background and the ducks in front. Every time he manages to see one, Red will make sure you know that he found it. Of course, he sends them back, though he modifies them with little marker tattoos. You’re going to get all your ducks back, but none will be clear of any sort of markings, each one is drawn on.

“yer lil’ buddies are all safe ‘n’ sound, but y’ gotta send me some more so we can share. y’ don’t want these ones over here bein’ lonely, do ya?”

SF Sans/Black: This is both mildly entertaining to him, and simultaneously a bit annoying for him to have in his house. Black likes things to be orderly, and have a whole lot of things appear in his home at random times throws him for a loop. There are too many things going on when they start to pop up, but he’s not trying to cause issues. With a little bit of time, the appearance of the ducks will start to be a part of the house, not a nuisance to him. Each one will begin to be displayed on his shelves, but if you need them back, he’d be more than happy to return them to you. Black will want to keep one or two, just to reserve their spot, but once he gets used to it, it’s all good. You’re more than welcome to have the ducks start appearing in the house, and he will welcome each one.

“WELL, AT FIRST IT WAS ANNOYING, BUT IT GREW TO BE ENDEARING. IT WASN’T SO BAD, I JUST DIDN’T LIKE HAVING THE FLOW INTERRUPTED.”

The sleepy boys meet their soulmate at a friend's house at some ungodly hour in the morning, don’t ask why they're up at this time. The attraction is immediate and clearly mutual! The person introduces themselves and offers a hug in greeting and...promptly falls asleep when the skelly wraps their arms around them. Looks like the boys coats are way too comfy and someone hasn’t had their coffee yet! Whoops!

@chibijessykat, this is a cute ask, and I think it works well! These poor bois have no idea what’s going on, so let’s see if we can help them out. Also, as a note to followers, because this happened with this particular ask, keep the character count in mind! UT Sans/Vanilla: So, he never anticipated that he even had a soulmate, much less meeting one like this! Vanilla is pleasantly surprised to meet you, but he doesn’t know exactly what’s expected of him when he meets his soulmate. After all, there’s only one person who’s really made for him, and that’s you, and now that he’s meeting you, he’s a little lost. However, when you offer the hug, he melts into it like butter on warm toast, sinking into your arms. When you fall asleep on him, though, he ends up being even more confused before he decides to go with it. Vanilla is perfectly fine with just taking a nap and cuddling up with you for the first time you two meet. It feels right, somehow, like the two of you were made to be permanent nap buddies, and you were. 

“heh, well, this is not what someone would usually suspect happens when it comes to soulmates, but there’s no complaint here.”

UF Sans/Red: Much like Vanilla, Red didn’t anticipate that he would ever have a soulmate in his life. Sure, he hoped for one, but to legitimately get one is a whole other ballpark that he did not see coming. He’s sweating bullets the whole time, trying to figure out what’s going on and how he should be taking this new information to process it. You offering a hug to him is a little on the uncomfortable side, since he doesn’t know how to deal with positive affection yet. When you start to fall asleep on him, he relaxes just a little bit, though not by too much. You showing this much trust in Red proves that you’re not scared of him, which was his main worry upon meeting you. You’re going to get snuggles until you wake up, and then there will be a proper introduction.

“it ain’t how things ‘d be done from what ‘ve heard before, but no skin off m’ back here, let ‘em sleep as long as they like.”

US Papyrus/Stretch: Of course he would be meeting his soulmate on a day when he was more tired than normal. Stretch finds himself floundering a lot more than he wants to when he meets you and you’re literally his soulmate. As much monsterkind anticipates their soulmates, he’s got a pit of dread in his non-existent stomach. While he’s still caught off guard, you come up and give him a hug, without warning. His body moves to automatically catch you, and then you happen to fall asleep on him. On the one hand, this is really awkward and he doesn’t know what to do, but on the other, he’s got a golden opportunity to take a nap. Stretch elects to join you in sleeping, heading over to a couch or chair to curl up with you in his arms for a few hours or so. 

“all bundled up and ready for some snuggling, are we? there’s nothing better for me to do right now, so we can do that together.”

SF Papyrus/Rus: Of all the things that he expected from that day, meeting his soulmate for the first time was not on the list. Right from the moment he laid his sockets on you, Rus knew that you were somehow going to be absolutely perfect for him. This is only strengthened from the fact that your face seems as tired as he feels at this very moment. He pulls you into the hug eagerly, but he’s trying to figure out what to tell you to win your heart over when you end up falling asleep on him. If you were awake to see it, you would have seen that his little eyelights turn into small, upside-down hearts. You’re too perfect for words, and Rus is more than happy to take you somewhere to lay down for a cuddle. After the nap is over, he’s going to ask you on a date properly.

“it’s absolutely fine that y’ fell asleep on me, there’s no worries here. one thing, though, would y’ like to go out on a proper date, soulmate?”
