photographic proof of my cat for @kittyminhyuk
Oh yeah I was FINALLY able to reel in the thinkpad's cooling issues last night!!!! At first I didn't believe it because it was still as loud as ever, but checking the temps confirmed it! Hovering around 60°c rather than before where it was idling at 80°c with nothing open! :D
Also whoever decided to make the windows power options Like That? Curse of mega diarrhoea. Why is there THREE separate options for power mode???? One in the slider in the battery taskbar icon, one in control panel's power settings, and one in the BIOS?????? And they all act independently of eachother. Like... Would it not be easier to have a general one and then options for fine tuning??? (like the one in control panel but with more options. Would be nice not to have to go into device manager for some of them. I FORGOT DEVICE MANAGER POWER OPTIONS (only sometimes lets you change it though!) THERE'S FOUR)
In conclusion:
I think it's incredibly funny that I've yet to encounter a single laptop produced in the last 20 years that is bigger (in terms of volume) than my 2012 thinkpad. The few that rival the thickness of it are always outmatched by its width. And likewise the ones that match the width are paper thin. Even among other thinkpads it can be close but mine still wins out. Somehow. It's actually somewhat of a problem, out of all my laptop bags it just BARELY fits into ONE (that's in dire need of patching. The tears aren't because of the laptop lol). Truly the supreme chonkster of laptops.

Kinda nuts that I find my XP PC pleasantly slow. With most modern stuff they somehow manage to load things just as you think about doing something else, and so demand your attention the entire time you need to use them. But I know if I'm formatting something on my XP pc I can go do something else since it can take a couple of hours to format a 100GB hard drive. Even just booting up I can go make a drink or something since it'll take at least a minute or so to finish. It's just kinda nice???
