Paz doesn’t get it either, and she notices that now her brother is all sad and acting weird too, so she takes it upon herself to reach out to Mattie and be like “Dude”. So he starts coming back over a liiiiiittle bit more, exclusively to sit on the floor in Paz’s room and listen to sad songs while she reads in silence for many hours at a time. Paz can definitely tell something’s really wrong, but she has no idea how to ask what the problem is

Lucky for her, Mattie gets tired of pretending everythings fine n dandy and is like “Paz. Paz I have something to tell you but you Can’t tell anyone okay? You have to promise” and she’s like “okay I promise” and then he’s like “i have Feelings for your brother” and she’s like “oh that is just wonderful” but internally she’s like OH MY GOD

Aubrey meanwhile, is pining. Just absolutely pining and yearning for Del. She knows its not requited so she doesn’t intend on saying anything to Del, and she doesn’t wanna say anything to Alonso because she doesn’t know how he’d feel about that. Bbbbbut! She knows that their oldest sister, who’s kinda strange but ultimately seems nice, would maybe make a good confession guinea pig, and doesn’t seem like the type to go running and telling others’ secrets. I mean, come on, the girl’s got her face in a book 24/7 and doesn’t talk to that many people. Who could she possibly spill the secret to?
