i’ve been rewatching buffy and i forgot how dark season 6 is. it’s like joss whedon said what if i took everything people loved about this show and fucked it up. other than spike and buffy (for the most part) like this season had so much go wrong - dawn acts out for being rightly ignored/forgotten, riley comes back and shows buffy what could’ve been, buffy depressed for multiple reasons, giles goes back to england and leaves buffy alone, S6 E19, xander leaves anya at the alter, tara dies, dark! willow, that one buffy hair cut/color, the whole bad guy trio that lowkey tortures buffy all season, all the torture that spike goes through both for his soul and emotionally with bufyy
really makes you forget they used to make jokes in this show
Oz saying “Okay prepare to uncouple. Uncouple” and Willow and Xander swapping places to mix the group up before seeing Buffy is such an underrated comedy moment in BTVS. I’m considering making a compilation if I ever get some editing skills 😂

It was such a galaxy brain move to have Spike and Anya have sad rebound sex. Like, they’re acquaintances, they’re both demons, they’ve both just had their hearts broken. It makes perfect sense! I feel like it just wouldn’t have occurred to a lot of shows though since they’ve like, almost never talked to each other alone before that point
