can you imagine how much amy wouldn't put up with dean's shit
like she chews out sam sometimes too, but amy's never afraid to knock dean back to his senses
dean wonders if that's why sam stayed with her when he was gone, because she grounded him when there was nothing and no one else to
and unexpectedly, dean finds himself grateful for amy pond
The hunter and his raggedy girl
so I wrote a little thing for my babu Lizzie, based on this post
I hope you like it
- So he travels through time? – Sam’s eyes shone bright as Amy told him the stories of her raggedy man.
- Yes, in this kind of blue police box. – Amy’s eyes were also shining, because she finally met someone who believed in her “imaginary” friend.
- But isn’t he called the doctor? Why is the box a police box?
- That’s exactly what I asked him! He also liked fish fingers and custard.
- Ew! - Sam groaned. – Who likes fish fingers and custard?
- I do – Amy said in her usual stubborn tone while gesturing to herself.
Sam laughed at Amy’s fake indignation, his friend joining him right afterwards. They had enjoyed each other’s company since Amy moved to their neighbourhood when he was four. The girl, who was standing until that point, let herself drop on the floor next to him, staring at his eyes. She was suddenly serious.
- When he comes back and takes me with him, you promise you will miss me?
Sam nodded, but didn’t say anything for a moment.
- I promise. – He finally said. Little he knew how much that promise would affect him.

It didn’t take long before John started taking longer and longer hunting trips. Dean started noticing his dad’s odd behaviour, but kept his thoughts to himself. He didn’t want to worry his 8 year-old brother when he was with the only girl he’d probably ever get. But even that couldn’t change the fact that they were soon to be moving. When the news finally came, Sam didn’t have time to say good bye properly. Instead, he just reminded Amy of his promise, and how he had meant it. The Winchesters left to never settle again, Amy moved back to Scotland after her parents ceased to exist. Neither of them ever forgot the other, but as they grew older and older the hope of seeing each other again was reduced to almost nothing. But deep down they still hoped.

Sam and Dean were in Scotland. How his brother had even agreed in getting into a plane and flying across the ocean was a mystery. But he guessed Bobby was worthy of that sacrifice. After they found Crowley’s bones, they still had a couple of days off before going back to their regular hunter life.
- Well, I guess we got ourselves a holiday. – The older brother said while looking around the cemetery. When Sam said nothing, Dean snapped his fingers, snapping his brother out of his thoughts.
- Sam, you with me?
- Hm?
- I said we got ourselves a little holiday an- Sam looked away again. – Are you even listening to me?
- Sorry, I just... I thought I saw someone.
- Not a zombie, I hope.
- No, no... Just... I don’t know. It’s this place, it reminds me of her.
- Whatever, Romeo, let’s get outta here.
Dean walked towards the small car they had rented, complaining about its size, while Sam stayed behind, still staring into the distance. Maybe he was getting crazy, after all.
Or maybe not, as the distant figure was now running towards him.
- Sam! SAM! – Amy shouted, waving her arms to make sure he would see her.
Sam was now running too, and he could hear Dean yell and grunt in complaint, but he didn’t care anyway. They ran and hugged, being as cliché as it could, but neither of them cared.
- I knew I would see you again. – Amy said, breaking the hug and punching him lightly in the shoulder.
- Is that your raggedy man? – Sam said, pointing at the Man who was now next to them.
- Yes, that’s me, the Doctor. – He fixed his bowtie and stretched his hand to greet the American. – Hello! Are you the famous Winchester?
Sam blushed.
- I didn’t know I was.
- Well, I’ll leave you two alone for now... – the Doctor said, walking past Sam and towards Dean, stopping him from getting closer and pushing him back to the car. Sam and Amy giggled at Dean’s cursing as the Doctor pushed him aside. Amy grabbed Sam’s hand and pulled him towards the TARDIS.
- What are you doing? – The hunter said in surprise.
- I want you to travel with me.
Sam stopped walking and let go of her hand.
- You don’t want to come with me?
- Of course I do, but I can’t. My brother and I are jammed in problems up to our necks, I don’t want to get you hurt.
Amy punched him again.
- I’ve been travelling with the Doctor for what feels like ages. I can handle a bit of danger.
Sam smiled.
- I guess one trip won’t be much trouble. I mean, it travels in time, right?
Amy giggled.
- Yes, it does.
They heard Dean and the Doctor arguing in the distance.
- I mean, as long as we can get Dean into the box.
They laughed. Yes, one trip wouldn’t be much trouble. But it would also certainly not be enough.
"I was hoping you could come home today, seeing as it is my birthday."
"I'm sorry, I can't. But did you get my package?"
"Your?--"
"Happy Birthday, Amy."
