Stanley for the Ploy Carla thing?? (and Carla too?)
He obviously already had a QP going on with Ford, but Stan has a lot of love to go around and he really really likes all that romance stuff which Ford doesn’t really like at all and so every so often he manages to convince Ford to bring in or at least try out a third party in what they already have going on. Some times it works out for a while and sometimes it doesn’t even start. Carla was the first person that actually stuck around for a while!
Stan is Biromantic asexual, but lithromantic too and so he always gets super nervous about the actual dating thing because even though he has a crush on someone he knows that vanishes pretty quickly after he actually starts dating them, but with Ford’s support and with an already well-grounded base of the QP relationship with Ford (which is build not on any romantic or sexual feelings, he slowly grows more confident in asking people out and trying out poly-QP relationships with these people that don’t depend on continued romantic or sexual attraction. (He doesn’t actually tell Carla any of this because he doesn’t really have the words and the last person he tried to explain it to took it really really badly).
Stan likes to cuddle!! he is a super super clingy person and so Carla and Ford often switch off (when they are not both cuddling him that is) which he loves to death.
Stan is deathly afraid to the Ferris Wheel but will still go on it with Carla and Ford because they both love it and it’s slightly okay because if he get’s too freaked out Ford will hold him tight while Carla kisses him to distract him from how high up they are.
Stan tries really hard to hide how much he hates the ‘perfect guy’ image that his dad tries to impose on him every day, and it takes a while but he finally confides in Carla about it and she quickly takes it upon herself to teach him about fashion and make up and everything under the sun that he could possibly like. It makes wearing super masculine clothing a little easier on him knowing the fashion trends that inspired them.
Stan loves sappy love movies but Ford can’t stand them. He used to sit through them with Stan (and sometimes still will) but with Carla around he doesn’t have to since Carla doesn’t mind watching the sappy stuff with Stan instead.
Stan still plans on one day leaving with his brother on a boat and as time goes on he kind of plays with the idea of inviting Carla along because things have been going so well between all three of them. it something that plays at the corners of his mind but never gets to fully develop into an idea because shit hits the fan a few weeks after he starts thinking about it.
Him and Carla try out monogomy for a little bit after the falling out with Ford, but its just not the same at all. it doesn’t work and Stan just ends up hurting more and more when he realizes that he really can’t do this dating thing with just one person. When Carla eventually leaves him for Thistle he feels broken to pieces and like a complete failure and ends up destroying Thistles car. It was the lowest point he had ever been in his life up until then, but he would only sink lower from there.
When Carla first showed up to her date with Stan and Ford was there her first thought was ‘oh god they are freaks. i need to get out of here now.’ and so she ran.
After about three days of calming down, thinking about it, and then really thinking about it she kind of decides ‘well….when else am I going to get the chance to date twins? at the same time? I guess I might as well go for it….’
(NSFW) The relationship turns out to be like nothing at all that she expected or like the ‘horror’ stories that she had read. For one she had kind of expected a lot of threesomes. there were no threesomes. there was a lot of three-way cuddling but no threesomes. Stan, apparently, and much to her shock, didn’t like or do sex. Ford would but Stan wouldn’t go near her with that idea in mind. Stan would do makeout sessions with her though. Ford never did. Ford would do light kisses but tongues were a big ‘NO’ for him. She also kind of expected that she would be the one in the middle of everything (walking together, holding hands, movies, etc.) and was pleasantly surprised when it was Stan that was in the middle.
Ford’s hands freaked her out. She would never tell him that, but if he touched her too quickly and she wasn’t prepared she would always jump slightly. She could see how much this hurt Ford and she hated herself for it even though Stan tried to reassure her that it wasn’t that big of a deal and that they understood.
Carla connected quicker with Stan (Obviously he had been the one she had wanted to date in the first place) but late night conversations between all three of them and late night sci-fi movies with Ford eventually led to his growing on her too.
When she tried to just date Stan after everything had gone wrong it just didn’t work. it was like there was a piece, a very very large piece, missing from the relationship. Something important and integral that made it work, and with out it? Well without it things just didn’t move right. The relationship became uncomfortable even though she tried to make it last, but after a few months she had to admit that things weren’t going to get better and broke up with Stan once she found someone new.
