if i owned a restaurant and someone was rude to the wait staff i’d shout “send them to rhythm hell!” and the rude customer and everyone they came with would be dragged into my wretched room to count complex polyrhythms, and if they failed i would ban them forever. if they all succeeded i’d let them off with a warning tho
I don't usually like songs with lyrics, but my favorite gag in less serious songs is when they randomly throw in some really difficult tuplet or syncopated rhythm to fit a really weird amount of syllables in the lyrics. Like this one song just pulled out a 6 against 11 polyrhythm (at least to my ears, idk) so the singer could go into more detail.

A band made up entirely of a polycule of musicians making music under the name The Polyrhythms or something
Found this cool website (a polyrhythm metronome). Feel like this will come in handy someday (particularly the free videos)... https://bouncemetronome.com/video-resources

"Music is a hidden arithmetic exercise of the soul, which does not know that it is counting"
- Gottfried Leibniz
“I can’t remember the last time I saw a fucking band that blew my mind like that...It’s like his body is playing two different songs. On top, he’d be playing in like 4/4 and then his feet…I don’t know… they’re playing like a completely different song. Then the band is playing the rhythm to his feet, but the crowd is nodding to what the fuck he’s doing with his hands..it's like you're going insane.”
- Bill Burr, from a conversation about his passion for drumming and the musicians who inspire him
