Sights of Summer 2019

DWe’re getting to the end of the Summer.  In the olden days (before I got married)  I would camp with friends at the Philadelphia Folk Festival  I usually volunteered so I could get in for free and always ended up on a work detail that involved patrolling the campgrounds all night.

Beadfest Philadelphia  is a good way to mark the end of Summer these days.  I have never taken a class there, but…

This photo tutorial is very detailed and I’ll show you how to sculpt from such Cured polymer clay miniature bunches of flowers vanilla.

After firing, the bunches can be used for jewelry assembly, such as earrings or pendants. As usual, I will try to simplify the technique that even beginners could dazzle vanilla from polymer clay (thermoplastics).

So, prepare tools and materials. To make flowers vanilla from polymer clay we need to mix different shades of plastic:

white,

yellow and

translucent, colorless

To take leaves Color:

wasabi

And prepare:

stationery knife

toothpicks

thin large caps beads, or the setting of (the framework for cabochons)

liquid plastic (e.g., Fimo gel)

Mixed polymer clay around the following proportions, yellow – for flowers vanilla, green (wasabi) – for the leaves:

We obtain such tender spring shades of vanilla and fresh herbs:

Vanilla polymer clay bar pull in a thickness of about 1 cm * 1:

And cut into 6 pairs of pieces with proportions of about 3/1:

Take one of the large plastic pieces will form a droplet, and insert the toothpick exactly in the middle at about 3/4 of our drops to a depth of:

For two bouquets of flowers to stick six vanilla and prepare a thin metal cap for beads with large loops. The second flower is angled to the first:

And add a third flower. To all of vanilla flowers are not “spread” in hand, you can plug in each one of them on a toothpick and squeeze all the flowers in the center. Toothpicks will hold the flowers in a bouquet:

Once all the petals are pressed, remove toothpicks and fill the center of the flower, “crumbled” plasticity yellow:

Now we remove our bouquets with worktop office knife and passed on to the surface of the firing:

I usually enclose a paper napkin that flowers do not burn the bottom. As you can see from this photo, I decided to make another bunch of vanilla from polymer clay

On firing put in the oven or mini oven for 15-20 minutes at 120 degrees:

So, our vanilla from polymer clay is ready! In the next lesson, I’ll show how to collect bouquets of the earrings and pendant:
