Bilateral colors of polymer clay master class
It has been over four years since I came up with two-colored buttercups from polymer clay, Â Iâm blind in this technique many other color-combinations, but the most delicious of course well, it was called âStrawberry marshmallows in chocolate.â This master class will sculpt the same colors, from pink and chocolate polymer clay.
And while many have long figured out how to âI doâ, yet someone, especially beginners in polymer clay, it will be interesting to watch this master class. Proceed?
So, for modeling of two-sided color, we need a minimum set of tools and materials, namely:
two (or three) plastic color
You can certainly try to mold any other plastic, but in my opinion, polymer clay Premo Sculpey is best suited for modeling these colors, because it does not get dirty, do not stick to hands, and becomes flexible and durable after baking, it is very important for such thin petals.
So, I cut a piece of white polymer clay (width strips about 5 mm), and mix with a little pink plastic:
I get sausage from polymer clay of uniform pale pink color. Cut off from a bar of chocolate-colored piece of a thickness of about 8-9 mm and knead well. We should get roughly the proportion of 2: 1 or 2: 1,5
Brown clay fingers stretch into a rectangle, if you have at hand pasta machine or rolling pin acrylic, then you are lucky, and my tools are in boxes, but thatâs okay, because the box is needed is quite small and not too perfect. In width it should coincide with the length of pink sausages, and its length must be sufficient to wrap the sausage in full:
Thus, the need to wrap plastic light dark. If you have a surplus, cut them with a knife stationery
I have a surplus left, I connect the edge âŚ
Approximately the ratio of contrasting colors of polymer clay should be able to:
Now we need to roll out the resulting two-colored sausage, do it very carefully, on a smooth and clean surface:
We roll out our primitive Kane to a thickness of about 0.8 â 1 cm
Cut away the edge. As can be seen in the context, the proportion of contrasting colors should be like this:
You will absolutely ânotâ if âshellâ will be thicker or thinner, as the boundary of transition from one color to another on the petals will âmove out.â Although this embodiment also looks nice. For example, here  âshellâ was twice as thick as âstuffing.â I think, in the proportions you understand, after some experimentation, but for now ⌠cut into our two-colored sausage made of polymer clay into pieces the size of 1-1.5 cm:
Then I put on my gloves, so the flowers do not remain fingerprints. Take one of the pieces of sausage, from any edge of the stifle plastic edge to hide the middle of a rose:
You may have a little âpullâ shell, but you will succeed!
Turn the resulting droplet cut up
And exactly at the center of a toothpick inserted. Next, go one-armed photos because I rented the workshop without a tripod, but you can always see how to sculpt cinquefoil from polymer clay here .
Thus, the leading stationery knife on a toothpick, cut our two-tone drop of five parts:
One part is folded to the side and fingers to give it the shape of a petal. Strong can not flatten, because toothpick will further processing, and at this stage need only generate contours
After modeling all the petals turned a flower:
Now toothpick Roll the petals, very carefully, one by one:
Flower with petals rolled out does not look too neat, it is necessary to make it more elegant:
Hold the tab with your fingers on the sides so as to obtain a âboatâ, slightly tightens up and wrap down. If you act carefully, polymer clay is not broken. Do not hurry.
Once all the petals âsandwiched boat,â toothpick to smooth bumps in the center of the flower and insert it in the center with enough force to make a very small hole.
On the back of the flower looks smooth and tidy. If you did everything right, cut anything extra is not necessary:
So, our two-way flower from polymer clay ready to be fired:
I got almost thirty flowers, spread their tails up on the usual paper napkin on a ceramic platter send in a preheated 130 degree oven for 20 minutes. (Firing temperature of your plastics may differ, refer to the packaging!) If you bake polymer clay for the first time, be sure to read the rules of polymer clay baking .
After firing, to quickly cool my flowers from polymer clay, I usually I shake them in cold water:
Now my flowers are ready for assembly in the decoration, which later you will definitely see in my blog  or on my page VKontakte . In the meantime, I hope this workshop you liked and inspired to create their unique polymer masterpieces! I wish you all success! Thank you for attention!
