The Upsides of Polyamory.
So far in my personal experience of Polyamory - as short as it has been - has been the heightened emphasis on communication. In my past relationships I had the unfortunate habit of bottling up my feelings about things that upset or confused me, to the detriment of my trust in my partner. But now being Polyamorous, I’m 1000% more aware of how important it is that I communicate how I’m feelings. I’m slowly learning to bring things up as the come about instead of letting them fester and bubble up until they burst into something different from my initial concern.
The other week Will and I were having sex and he got a couple of text messages. He checked his phone when we were done and I happened to see what I thought was a girls name on his phone. I didn’t say anything straight away as I felt very vulnerable having been both naked and in my own bed. So I got up and got dressed and went back into the lounge room, leaving Will back in my bedroom.
About 10 minutes later he came out, sat down next to me and tried to start a conversation. I was pretty quiet as I was trying not to just get angry and yell at him for texting another girl straight after fucking me. After a couple of minutes of not very successful conversation, Will asked me if I was angry at him - he has a pretty keen eye for when women are mad at him! Haha
I childishly brushed him off and said I was fine. He left it for another minute and then pressed again. I finally caved and shyly admitted what I thought had happened and why I was upset about it. He immediately took out his phone and showed me all his latest conversations, all of which were his friends or me. I was so embarrassed about how I had reacted and immediately apologised for it.
He laughed at me and said that he would never do that as he agreed it was a little ‘uncool’ to text another girl having just had sex with me.
Right here is where I should explain that neither of us are seeing other people in a more serious capacity than casual hook-ups. I think I would have reacted differently if it had been another partner or at least a more serious relationship, but since having met Will I haven’t really met anyone else I have any attachment for and I’m pretty sure neither has he.
It should be interesting when that comes about, but for now I’m really happy how things are.

Be sure to lookout for Dubb's new Perfect Timing project coming sometime later this year and if you haven't already check the rising emcee's very dope ironically titled Never Content mixtape, which he dropped earlier in the year and has been making it's round. Content is yet another project he dropped that still hasn't gotten all the just due it deserves yet too and even more reason for you to check it out if you haven't already.
