makeup artist! xiao who always leans in a little too close whenever practicing on you — so close, you can feel his breath fanning across your face; so close, you can feel his lips brush against yours as he does your eyeliner.
makeup artist! xiao who scolds you if you jerk away from him or move too suddenly, pulling you back in by your jaw and muttering under his breath ab how "you're so unprofessional."
makeup artist! xiao who can feel the heat radiating off your face everytime he does your makeup — pressing the back of his hand to your forehead and asking if you have a fever or if you feel ill.
makeup artist! xiao who always insists on doing your makeup while you're sitting down and he sits in your lap, or while you're lying down with him straddling your hips — "it's easier like this," is what he tells you, but he knows you don't believe him; you can see the light blush on his face and you know it's not his makeup.
