He slammed you against the wall in the alley, fingers wrapped around your throat as those ice cold eyes peered down at your form. Your gaze meeting his confidently, almost rebellious in nature. Even as you felt the heat at your neck, you didn't waver. Although perhaps attempting to take down someone like Dabi put you in a situation where fear would've been the more appropriate reaction. No, you decided, I can't think like that. Dabi's quirk was terrifying, you knew that, yet the defiance lit your eyes up despite that fear. The fear you refused to let show, the fear you refused to act on. Dabi had known heroes who had less bravery in his presence than you.

"Well, well." Dabi hummed, tapping a finger against your carotid artery.

"Something you've never seen." You grunted, wrapping a hand around his wrist, "The heroes will be here soon, I'm sure of it."

"For a little rat of a detective? I doubt that. You're putting a lot of stock in their morals, doll." Dabi retorted with a sarcastic scoff.

Naturally, Dabi had heard about you. You were a lost little lamb of a cop, delusions of grandeur being what they had to be, he supposed. After all, you were quirkless and a cop. It told Dabi two main things. One: you had been beat down all your life, thus your lack of visible fear. Two: you likely had once dreamt of being a hero. Dabi knew few quirkless people actually went on to become cops, opting to give up and pursue other jobs. Yet you didn't. Dabi was impressed.

Dabi smirked, leaning in close, "But I could also... Use a favor. I'll even let you go in return."

You stared up at the villain, brows furthered. You were confused, to be completely transparent, however after a simple pressing of his hips to yours, you knew. Your face flushed red, you wanted to choke out some insult but the truth was that Dabi was hot. Not just because of his Cremation quirk but rather his apperance. Dabi grinned, leaning in close.

"You whore." Dabi cooed, "I bet you're getting off on the fact that I could do anything, right? Fuck you to my heart's content, Officier, and you'd just lay there and take my cock down your whore throat."

the first human emotion he had felt was grief, caused by his creator abandoning him. he was left to wander the world- no purpose, no meaning to his existence. there was no one to teach him how to resemble a human, his off-chance encounters with travellers and adventurers lasting barely a day or two before they too left him.

the first thing he did with a set goal in mind was infiltrate inazuma again. he whispered carefully constructed lies to people, planted seeds of hate and betrayal, so he could see the downfall of the nation that threw him aside. even if the results weren’t satisfying, the downfall of the raiden gokaden eased enough of his hatred that he could leave without looking back.

his encounter with you was by chance, or perhaps a fated one. perhaps the heavens had decided to deal him good cards this time, an apology for his creation. you were patient and kind- the blood dirtying his hands of the companions he killed weren’t important. your touch was gentle as you cradled his face and wiped his tears, the only remnant of his true nature that had long been worn down by his hatred. you stayed by his side and your hand remained in his, even when his fear of abandonment made him try to push you away.

you didn’t let him. perhaps you heard him wishing to be chased after in his attempts to make you leave, to be wanted just once. your persistence wore down his walls and the third human emotion he learned was love.

and by the heavens, did he love you. his entire being burned with adoration for you, with dedication, with effort, with respect. he revered you more than the god that breathed life into him, more than anything and anyone else. you made him wish to live. he greeted every morning and each breath of air with gratitude, gratitude for your presence that you blessed him with.

your love helped him accept his appearance that he once hated, for resembling the god that created him. his hair that he kept short so he wouldn’t resemble her any further was left to grow and he did not regret it for a single second when you would run your fingers through it in the evenings, a hum on your lips. his heart, that seemed to truly beat for a purpose after meeting you, would clench in his chest as he was overwhelmed by your beauty in such simple moments.

he loved you so much that he was entirely consumed by it, and even then he felt as if it wasn’t enough. you deserved more than he could ever offer you, yet you did not abandon him even as more time passed. you remained by his side, cleaned off the blood on his face after a battle and kissed his hands soiled with slaughter. you accepted his gentleness and the contrasting bloodlust, and he loved you even more for it. this was all that he had ever wished for and more.

the things he’d do for you knew no bounds. although you never asked him for anything outlandish, even if you asked him for the heads of everyone in teyvat he would bring it to you. he would bring down celestia and tear down nations, just for the twitch of a smile on your lips. it scared him sometimes, how far he was willing to go for you- though when his eyes found your face all fears melted away. you deserved it all and more. you deserved the whole universe, and he would give it to you if you so wished.

such dedication easily reflected onto your daily life. he treated you like royalty, you needed not lift a single finger so long as you stayed by his side. he would do it all with a smile on his face, even the busy work and the strenuous tasks and he would not utter a single word of complaint. why would he? you were by his side.

and you remained, even when he decided to join the ranks of the fatui. he was reluctant at first- although the organisation had piqued his interest, he didn’t wish to subject you to the cruelty that came with being part of them and the thought of putting a god before you was simply laughable. whether it was the tsaritsa or his creator, you would remain his priority no matter what happened. you were the anchor that kept him alive, his purpose, the reason for such intense love that threatened to consume him.

even when he joined and rose through the ranks with ease, he refused to let you fully join the organisation’s schemes. such cruelty did not befit your beauty. he wished for your hands to remain unsoiled, of greed and of blood. he gladly took on your part of bloodshed and you let him.

it was easy, to be part of the fatui. he knew hatred best, and it didn’t take much for him to uncover the wrath he had buried deep inside. he was a storm that took the battlefield, with no mercy to whatever dared stand in his path. such a storm became but a gentle wild that caressed your cheeks when it come to you, and his subordinates perhaps feared you more because of this change. if you were able to tame this man, no, beast!.. who knew what this lunatic would do if they pissed you off?

You ignored the blunted remains of fires, and the distant singing of beautiful voices; praying that their song was loud enough to cover your walk home.

You used the vegetables left at your door, ignoring the way they’d been neatly placed in a silver basket that looked too expensive to have been left for someone of your upbringing. The exact ones you usually cooked with, even a few that you loved but consistently struggled to find. You went out of your way to thank your distant neighbors for the gifts they couldn’t have possibly known you’d want to use, ignoring the way they respond with confusion and deny involvement—you assume that they were being humble, with the quality of what was left for you to find, after-all, this is the country. Perhaps lying about gift-giving was seen as being humble? Having been raised in the city all your life, it was hard to tell; and so easy to brush off strange customs. 

You used the meat left behind, skinning the old buck left to pool blood in the grass of your yard. Despite the voice whispering to let it rot in some ditch nearby, you pushed your nerves down, excusing the acceptance of the gift with not wanting to waste the poor thing’s life. The silver arrow nestled within it’s chest went ignored, and you threw it aside and did your best to pretend it had never been there to begin with. 

The songs of wooden women with petals blooming from their hair grew louder, nearer, as the gifts continued to show up, morning after morning. It was difficult to ignore the idea that you’d perhaps attracted the attention of something, but you still pushed it away—there was nothing worth noticing, and you tried to convince yourself that you were simply being arrogant. So arrogant, that you continued to try and ignore the way moonlight seemed to last a bit longer every morning, and spat out any paranoia that tried to dig its’ claws into you. It was just your mind playing tricks, your subconscious finding new ways to torment you in it’s apparent boredom from the lack of frenzied cultists. 

It wasn’t until you were awoken by reflective light, that you had the thought to confront the being that had decided to visit nightly. The bed groaned and the floorboards gently whined as you stood to leave your bedroom, the air cool against your bare feet. Careful to walk lightly, you reached for the door to your yard when a chill halted your movements, despite the warmth of the summer night. Instead, you shifted to reach behind your curtains—unlocking the window and carefully lifting it barely an inch—curiosity begging you to hear your mystery hunter’s voice. Rather than a deep voice, you were met with silence, aside from a nearly inaudible drip. Moonlight cooed and beckoned you to look; your nervousness was pushed aside in favor of peering just around the corner of the window.

Your lungs halted at the sight, surprise holding them tightly—

—she was utterly mesmerizing, silver glinting as if she had weapons made of the moon itself. The girl seemed young to have brought the various game that recolored your grass red every morning, the impressive bow settled by her side spoke otherwise. The point of the bow gently grazed the wet ground, and suddenly your chest felt as deep as the bloody ground was red—the blood from the animal she carried seeped into the short tunic she wore, the fabric thirsting for more to soak in. The girl moved and red followed, the darkness of it luminated by the glow she seemed to radiate. Your legs felt heavy on the cold flooring of your dark home. Though your mind urged you to leave the sight, to hide under the warm covers of your bed and hope for sunlight, your limbs refused to do more than lightly shake in place. 

Was this really the truth? Were you dreaming, perhaps already back in bed? A young girl was really responsible for the nightly, fresh kills on your lawn? 

The answer to your questions cut through your skull as another woman walked into view, a bow resting in her hand. She wore branches in her hair, and flowers seemed at home against her cheeks—a nymph, you realized, and too late did the realization of who had been leaving dead gifts for you come. You almost hissed at the thought, thinking yourself too prideful—despite knowing very well such an insult was a lie—a goddess? Leaving things for you? 

But the answer was the truth, and it was difficult to run from a truth standing right in front of you. One that had been right in front of you for weeks. Had hopeful dreaming allowed you to ignore the way worship of the tree goddess seemed to follow you around? How the songs seemed to grow longer, closer with every moon that came and went? 

You did what you could to begin to build the courage to run away, to turn your taut muscles from ice to hot anger. The heat simmered back into fear at every thought you tried to form against the goddess, and the weight of confusion did nothing but soothe any ember formed—smothering it before it could spark into even a candle light. 

You couldn’t hear what the nymph was saying, though you could see her lips move. The assumed goddess laid down the animal, and kneeled there, seemingly listening—or considering something? What, you couldn’t tell—and her lips moved in response, light gestures flowing from her words. The older woman made no such gesture, and turned to leave as she’d come in, and you just then noticed the other women—of whom you assumed were also nymphs—standing behind the tree-line. 

If seeing so many armed women in one place unsettled you, watching the goddess stand and match your gaze sent your soul straight to hades itself. 

Though exactly how you ended up sprinting through the wildest parts of the woods—bare feet surely collecting cuts, thorns, and dirt—still abandoned your thoughts. One moment you were watching a goddess smile at you, take steps towards you, and the next moment was greeted by the warm night air outside the back door of your home. Perhaps it was unwise to run from a hunter goddess, especially when you were wearing only your nightwear and the goddess chasing you was fully prepared to follow her prey until it gave in to exhaustion. But it hadn’t been a clear thought, and unfortunately for you, that also meant unclear actions—and your running turned into rolling, not feeling your legs turned into searing hot pain. You looked for an arrow only to see a damaged tree root, tugged further out of the ground by your frantic escape. The desire to stay low and hoping they overlooked your place in the ditch was near irresistible, even more-so as you wondered if you would even be able to walk on your aching foot. 

You covered your mouth to hide your breath and hoped for the best—that sunlight would come and you would wake up to birds singing. 

But birds often sing no matter the time, chirps decorating the wind just the same as fading moonlight decorated her weapon. The goddess waved off the women you hadn’t seen with bows drawn, and they disappeared back into the trees, the mix of greens in the dark too similar to tell if they had actually left. She smiled down at you, again, and crouched down to step into the ditch you had face-planted into.

“It seems I’ve frightened you, ελαφάκι(1).” speaking softly, she ran her hand down your bare leg, barely ghosted over your injury. If flinching away from her offended her in any way, she didn’t put in any effort to show it. She called out to someone, though your head was spinning a little too hard to know if she had called a command or a name. Before you could wiggled away from her, a pretty nymph with dripping wet hair appeared by your side and began to work on your lower leg. 

“There was no reason to flee from me, I have no intent to harm you.” The goddess distracted you from the cool water dripping from the woman to your wound—it helped that it soothed the pain. She leaned towards you, a warm hand cupped your jaw and turned your gaze fully towards her. “Though, it seems to have saved me an introduction, I’ve never seen you run from kind strangers before.”

She seemed to wait for you to speak, and though you knew very well that gods were not patient, you were not sure if you could speak at that moment. 

You tried to catch your breath, and think about how you could escape without inciting the wrath of a deity—”You’re the goddess of the hunt… ” Your words hung in the air, settling on your tongue like hot tar. 

“I am.” She confirmed, eyes lidded, seemingly with disappointment in your answer, “Do you not know me by name? I was sure you were from my brother’s city, do his people not speak of me?” 

“They do.” You were quick to reply, your throat hissing at every syllable. 

“Then will you not address me by such?” Although the way she held your head up was much softer than you’d ever been held before, the slight shift in grip was more than enough of a warning.

You swallowed the hot tar, and let confusion meld with it as it sank into your chest, “Lady Artemis, why…” The words did not want to leave the safety of your teeth, but you forced it out anyway, “Why have you chased me? Surely I am not worthy enough for the attention of a goddess, much less so a great olympian.”

You hoped the lie would be able to stand against her sharp senses, truth being you couldn’t care less how worthy you were or weren’t. You just want to be left alone, to wake up with the morning birds as your only company, to be able to forget the existence of anything else—

You paused, and glanced towards your foot—which had droplets of water slowly running down it, the nymph who’d been tending to the injury was long forgotten in the conversation with her. If you ever saw the blue-eyed nymph again, you’d have to thank her, even if she was only helping because her patron asked her to.

The ache was completely gone, though the tension remained. She was good at whatever she’d done, “...I think I can.”

Ringing slowly replaced the birds in the early morning light, and you realized she would have come regardless of which light illuminated the sky; a warm kiss was pressed against your brow, and your vision blurred the soft colors of the forest into a dark, dreamless sleep.

kisses with xiao always either end up with his tongue in your mouth (or vice-versa), or are nothing more than a peck on the lips, rarely is there an in-between. xiao's just so addicted to you — your lips, your touch, anything you were willing to give him, he'd take. he loved the feeling of his hands on your body, of skin-to-skin contact.

standing up from where you sat, taking a moment to let the dizzy spell subside, you gave xiao a questioning look. for someone who doesn't know much of anything about mortals, that sure was a swift trip.

"i– i — i asked mor— zhongli for help," he muttered, looking down at the floor, refusing to meet your gaze. "and he told me to go to bubu pharmacy."

the fact that xiao had asked for help for your sake had your heart absolutely melting as you slowly walked over to him to close the distance between the two of you.

xiao felt his heart rate pick up as his face suddenly felt all hot. the look in your eyes was so sincere, and just he couldn't take it.

"tch, it really isn't that big of a deal." but it was that big of a deal. not that xiao realized that, anyway (or maybe he did and was just trying to avoid the embarrassment).

opting to ignore his comment, your hands moved from his to cup his face instead, planting a kiss on the little purple diamond on his forehead.

chuckling at the way the tips of his ears turned bright red, which only complimented the rosy blush on his cheeks, you stepped back only slightly whenever you saw him reaching into his pocket.

"'s that?" you asked when he pulled out a small tin.

"your medicine," he replied curtly, handing the tin over to you.

"oh-ho-ho! mr. medicine man! look at you go, baby~" you cooed teasingly, opening up the tin to inspect its contents. inside lay no more than a handful of pills, presumably made of crushed qingxin flowers.

"dr. baizhu said to take one in the morning, and one at night," xiao explained as you carefully examined the pills.

"thank you for all your concern, my guardian yaksha, but i can promise you i'm not anywhere near this sick," you said, closing the tin and handing it back to the adeptus — only, he didn't take it from you. instead, he stood with his arms crossed with a serious expression set on his pretty features.

"xiao—"

and it was at that exact moment an almost devious idea came to xiao's mind. gods, you were such an awful influence on him.

holding out his palm expectantly, a brief look of confusion passed over your face at xiao's sudden (uncharacteristic) agreeance, but you tentatively placed the tin in his hand anyway.

"open your mouth," he commanded softly, taking a pill from the tin. oh, so you just didn't have a choice. okay.

you hesitated for a moment before doing as he asked, even going as far as to stick out your tongue, which made xiao bite back a smirk at your blind obedience.

"pretty and obedient," he mused to himself quietly (though it didn't go unheard by you). "but not smart enough to take their damn medicine," he jeered, taking your jaw in one hand and placing the pill on your tongue with the other.

closing your mouth to swallow it, xiao's grip on your jaw tightened, forcing your mouth back open.

"ah-ah, don't you need something to wash it down with?" he asked, a shadow of a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.

and before you could even think about asking him what he meant by that, xiao had already spit in your mouth and was telling you to swallow.

both his actions and words had your cheeks burning in embarrassment as you opened your mouth once again for him to "inspect" it.

his fingers pressed down your tongue and his free hand wrapped around your neck as he leaned in far closer than necessary just so he could look and poke around in your mouth.

grabbing at his wrist, you had tried to say his name, to complain about how humiliating this was, but all that resulted in was xiao jamming his fingers down your throat and the hand around your neck tightening its grip.

gagging around his digits, drool began to pool in your mouth, which almost made xiao laugh when it began to dribble down your chin!

"silly mortal, drooling all over itself," he mocked. "this wouldn't be happening if you had just taken your medicine, you know. after all the trouble i went through to get it, and you still refused. you're so clearly sick — i can feel the heat radiating off your face, a sure sign of a fever — and yet, you still insist that you're fine."

xiao's words only added to your burning embarrassment and you could feel the seat of your panties quickly beginning to grow damp.

closing your mouth around his fingers in a poor attempt to regain the upperhand, you choked out a gasp when he tightened his grip around your neck — a warning. he wants to see you drool all over yourself.

"look at you, such a mess. you look so dazed and lightheaded. what about any of that makes you think you're fine, hm? you mortals are so strange. but, if you insist that you truly aren't sick, then i suppose my job here is done."

and just like that, with no other warning, xiao had vanished into thin air; leaving you a horny, drooling mess. that bastard !! surely he knew what the fuck he was doing !!!! he'd better get his ass back here soon before you were sick of him.

grabbing his face and quickly pulling him in for a kiss when he turned around, xiao was taken somewhat aback by your eagerness. as your fingers tangled themselves in his hair, you brushed your tongue over his lower lip. giggling at the soft gasp he let out, you didn't waste any time slipping your tongue into his mouth, further deepening the kiss.

xiao could feel you smirking into the kiss, and as much as he wanted to think about what you were up to, all he could concentrate on was the way you were sucking his tongue into your mouth.
