I can't Math but I can coupon. Got a pack of 12 coupons for $3.49. Each one is $3 off a 12 pack of razors that cost $2.94 with tax, which is a $0.06 money-maker. 3.49-(12Γ0.06)=$2.77 for 141 razors, or $0.02 each. Why do I need this many disposable razors? Because Individual Service Plans contain goals/plans/needs that require materials that are not consistently provided to Care Attendants or Paraprofessionals, so the cost often comes out of their own pockets. It makes more sense to coupon and spend $2.77 than $35.28 considering that it is an on-going cost and, again, coming from the pockets of those providing the service (often for minimum wage). But the real discussion shouldn't be about the costs that Paras cover on the daily, it should be about who should be covering the cost; the parents, the state, the goal-writers, the company care is billed through? Who is ultimately responsible and how can we change things for the Paras/Care Providers/Teachers and why have so many costs become their often self-inflicted responsibility? #Paraprofessional #AttendantCare #ThankYourPara #CostOfCare #IndividualServicePlans #PersonalHygiene #CostResponsibilities #PoliticsOfCare (at Gilbert, Arizona)
