I had to put my baby angel to sleep <3
A lurcher/pointer/many others mix, 12 y o, 9 years in the shelter. Diagnosis - melastatic cancer. One vet saw it as her oportunity to make money by mutilating him and prolonging the increasingly intensifying suffering by a couple months, the other helped him to painlessly and stresslessly fall asleep while cuddled into his momma.
My baby got to enjoy being spoilt and loved and I'm happy I was able to give him all of that and yet make the right decision of ending his life before it'd not be joyful anymore. The primary duty is to spoil and love our animals.
I was so devastated I had to take a couple days off work. I was sad missing him and also wondering where I could find another baby like him: super cuddly, not into barking, cute and into long walks. Well... soon I'll be reoming another rescue baby. Wish me luck, I can't wait! I can mourn all I want, but so many other rescue baby boys need a loving home!

Today’s fun fact is: Pointer breeds, often used in hunting, do not have to be trained to do their iconic “point”—lifting a front leg, tail and neck straight, literally pointing at potential prey. They do it instinctively, even as puppies!
