When the high winds precluded our journey to Alcatraz in February, my west coast damsel astutely noting the clarity in the skies suggested that we journey towards to the Golden Gate Bridge, to perhaps try to get to Marshall Beach with she had scouted for us. The lighting the was extraordinary that morning, so we made our way the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) by the bridge and park just west of the actual bridge. As we walked by the long not utilized defense batteries, my west cost damsel noticed that we were actually walked past a spot where we had been in the last summer where because of the marine layer nothing was visible. Not the case this time around as the views as we made our way down to Marshall Beach were outstanding. I stopped to capture this image of the Point Bonita Lighthouse over on the other side of San Francisco Bay over in Sausalito in the Marin Highlands as the wind whipped up the waters of the bay. I had posted an image from last summer that was taken from a higher vantage at the actualy Marin Highlands.
