#poetry request

Inspired by a song that never fails to bring me comfort. I used two songs that never fail to bring me comfort. Does anyone wanna take a guess?

Own Pace

Hey kid,

breathe.

Slow down.

It waits.

There is no need

to rush yourself

nor others.

Rest easy.

Dream big.

Don't lose

any sleep over it.

Listen to

no expectations

but your own.

It waits.

Everything

will be alright.

You will get there

at your own

time and pace.

Everyone has

something to say.

Everyone does this

in their own way.

Filter it out.

Sing a song;

use that to shout.

Turn the phone off

and disappear for a while.

Go touch some grass.

Try again tomorrow.

Everything in moderation.

You may win or lose

but to be yourself

is all that you can do.

And please remember.

Always remember.

That while

things may falter-

may slow down...

that your goals

and your dreams,

all the big and little things-

they wait for you.

We grew up thinking it would always be like this.

The late nights, staying up, having drinks —

playing at being adults but still holding on to being young.

We had a bond that felt unbreakable,

but it slowly slipped through the sands of time.

I miss it.

The lingering memories cast long shadows on today.

We used to be close.

Now everything’s changed.

We’re older now, and life has pulled us apart.

You moved away, started a new life —

a wife, a kid.

But we used to be best friends.

Now we don’t talk anymore.

I’ve thought about reaching out,

but the silence feels too heavy,

too strangling,

like it would just make it weirder now.

We used to never think about tomorrow.

But now…

we’re strangers.

What was it I said?

Suffer the children,

To come unto me.

For my love is freely given.

From highest peak, to deepest sea.

What was it I was called?

The Carpenters Son-

The Worlds Redeemer.

The Sinless One.

The Shining Teacher.

What was it I did?

I walked upon the waves, calmed the storm

From my bottle poured water, in my cup swirled wine

Healed the broken, and hearts began to warm

I took on my back your sins for now and of all time

Wait one day or perhaps three

So what is it I plea?

So remember me for all I've done,

The life I lived, the words I spoke,

my love for them is

so strong, so

painfully strong

i’ve noticed every thing about them

the way they walks

the way they acts

the way they treat others

Lovely Roses

A garden of roses

A sea of bright red

Hiding under the close is

A sense of dread,

An award of flowers

The sound of laughter

It used to be ours

But I refuse to chase after,

The twisting of words

The simple jabs of phrases

Muttering like mockingbirds

An argument that blazes,

Treated me like I was below

To the amazing GO fanfic writers who may be reading this: I'm sure it's been difficult lately for all of us for various reasons due to what is going on in the world. We all have our unique set of challenges, and these past few weeks have been let's just say... not my favorite weeks. I really need a small escape, and I want Aziraphale and Crowley to be included in it.

If anyone is interested in writing a poem about an idea I had in mind, please message me. The reason why I don't want this to be like a commission is because commissions involve somehow me forcing a set of idas or plot outlines when I don't really know if the writer feels the same way. I want this to be done only if someone actually really wants to do it, and not because I asked and I'm paying a certain x amount of $. I was always happy with the results of writing/art commissions but I'm never confidently sure if the creators feel the same way lol. This way, you are free to say yes/no.

So the idea is the following: A long time ago... approximately about 6000 years ago (so not long after Eden), Crowley takes Aziraphale to a tree sprouting from a nebula. It is actually a tree not of this world, but one that is made up of stars. The idea is that the tree acts as metaphorical wing. As Aziraphale shielded Crowley from the rain in Eden, I want this poem to be about Crowley symbolically sheltering over Aziraphale with his starlight under his stellar tree.

Again, I only want someone who really wants to write about this idea into a poem (it can be a prose or in a dialogue form!). If you choose to do this, I will compensate your effort with more than a few cups of coffee for sure! But I just don't want this to feel like a commission as that feels like I'm forcing? lol Also, I don't even know if writers take poetry commissions.
