Crimson Ink
When will you open your eyes and see
That this world is never going to be free?
'Cause the war is won,
The price is paid,
The son is lost,
The mothers, they wail.
'Cause the ones you believed, was ever wrong
You never saw, what was there all along
Though the rumours did say
But who'd believe a stray?
That you were deceived
By the leader you once believed
They led you to victory
And say all's now glittery,
But is it really won
When you lost everyone?
Memories and devestation, they would stay
The bereaved families would always pray
But the history will change
The winners will write
What once was blood
Is mere words tonight

My flowers will die in your vase. No, I’m trying to be dramatic. It was an honest thought that to me came the fourth, fifth, hundredth time that you forgot to water them. If you don’t want flowers why do you take them? Why don’t you just tell me to throw them away? So many roses, lilies and daisies have perished now for your lack of care. I thought that you liked plants. You talked about them so much. But apparently there is a big leap between talking about something and knowing shit about it. I don’t want to hear anymore about plants. You either don’t know nor want to take care of them. I will take my flowers to my own house and plant them where they deserve it. You see I am no botanical genious, I can barely name them apart. But if I don’t know the name, I will give them a new one, and I will read in a book what they like for lunch. I will give them the sun and the shadow they need. And I will tend to them if they are sick. And I am not dumb, I know some of them might die. But at least it won’t be because I didn’t try. I’ll learn from my mistakes and I will try again. And my flowers, oh dear... they might even care for me as well.
Excerpt from “Inside a Dog’s World,” by Alexandra Horowitz.

The spontaneous synchronization of oscillating systems as in the illumination patterns of fireflies to the wingbeats of free-flying barnacle geese to the tendency of an applauding audience to start clapping in synchrony.

We said we wanted to know all of the words. How did we go from rapacious yellow hordes ready to ravage your white women- to the sexless Asian in the background of your television? From the militant, harvesting masses- to the model minority helping you prepare your taxes?
