To-Sua Ocean Trench, Samoa - by Justin Peters
We think this postcard dates from around 1909 because the message on the back is dated in that year. The hotel balconies are decked out with foliage and flags, one appearing to be an American flag, and the others possibly French. Sadly this hotel burned down in 1917.
[Postcard]. Greeting from Samoa. Tivoli-Hotel (Ch Roberts). A Tattersall, photo, Apia, Samoa. [Number] 2695 [1909]
